A Case Study Intervention Study On Depressive Emotions Of Technology-based Empty-Nest Youths In IT Industry

Empty nest youth refers to young people who live apart from their parents and relatives,are single,and rent a house alone.It is produced in the context of the urbanization process.The imbalance of social and economic development and population migration have caused young people to leave their homes and go to big cities to find better development opportunities.Lack of emotional support and poor living conditions are the two major dilemmas faced by empty-nest youths.Among them,the technical empty-nest youth in the IT industry(hereinafter referred to as IT empty-nest youth)is an important part of the empty-nest youth.They have made great contributions to the development of Chinese cities and social economy;however,they themselves also face many problems,such as lack of emotional support,poor living conditions,high consumption levels,and high work pressure;this has caused them to have more serious problems.Depression,if not improved,will affect their physical and mental health and quality of life,and even lead to suicide,affecting social harmony and stability.Therefore,from the perspective of casework involving IT empty-nest youths,this article uses semi-structured interviews,scale methods,and questionnaires to select a certain employee of a medium-sized IT company in Shenzhen who has mild depression as the target of service.Knowing behavior theory and social support theory,formulating targeted case intervention plans for them,conducting a total of six casework interventions and multiple telephone return visits to help clients change their irrational perceptions of the environment and its things,and rebuild social support The internet can change their unreasonable behaviors,thereby improving the client's depression.The research results show that scientific and reasonable individual case social work can be effectively applied to the intervention of depression in IT empty-nest youths;however,it also faces the following problems and difficulties: The premise of cognitive behavior theory is that the client must be able and willing to discuss their emotions with social workers However,although many IT empty-nest youths have the ability to express themselves,they are unwilling to express their emotions and analyze their behaviors with social workers.With limited social work ability,the number of IT empty-nest youths is extremely large,and it is inevitable that there will be a shortage of manpower.Based on this,this research proposes the following countermeasures:For IT empty-nest youths who are unwilling to discuss their emotional and behavioral issues,acquaintances can lead and intervene,combined with topics of interest,from the shallower to the deeper,so that they are willing to talk to the social worker;In response to the problem of insufficient social workers' hands,IT companies can set up special psychological consultation rooms and allocate relevant personnel.Social workers or other professionals familiar with cognitive behavior theory and social support theories will provide training and guidance to relevant personnel to help IT empty-nest youths improved depression.
