The vocational high school physical education and health curriculum standards require the introduction of new sports events outside of ordinary physical education,emphasizing that students can independently choose the extracurricular sports events offered by the school,cultivate their own sports hobbies and expertise,and develop physical exercise habits.At the same time,the education reform also advocates the active development of art education to enhance students' aesthetic ability and innovation ability.Jazz dance,as a new sport that has been loved by the Chinese people in recent years,has been sought after and loved by a wide range of female high school students.It is a very valuable aerobic exercise.Using literature method,field investigation method,questionnaire survey method,and expert interview method,take the teaching content of jazz dance in Xiangbei Women's Vocational High School as the research object,and analyze the current restrictive factors in teaching.Based on the vocational high school physical education and health curriculum standards and the physical and mental development of high school students,combined with the reality of teachers,students,and teaching,the four major elements of jazz dance choreography are analyzed,and the teaching content is screened,and finally designed to suit the age of high school students.The complete set of action content is scientific and reasonable,and the scientificity and feasibility of the new teaching content have been tested through teaching practice.The main research conclusions are as follows:(1)The current jazz dance courses in Xiangbei Women's Vocational High School have four main restrictive factors: unscientific choice of teaching content,teachers' inadequate attention to the curriculum,insufficient professionalism of teachers,and low effectiveness of curriculum content;(2)The teaching content of jazz dance in Xiangbei Girls' School should focus on improving students' body shape and temperament and enhancing their dance professionalism as the main teaching objectives,with the purpose of promoting students' employment and increasing student employment options.(3)Jazz dance should be arranged based on the four major components of music,rhythm,movement,and dance style;(4)The newly designed jazz dance teaching content selects basic jazz dance steps and horizontal rotation,chest and crotch ROLLING,WAVE,UP-DOWN as single-action teaching content.(5)The overall course evaluation of students and teachers after teaching practice shows an upward trend.The achievement of students' learning goals,the mastery of basic skills,and the level of classroom satisfaction have all been significantly improved.This shows that the new jazz dance teaching content is scientific and feasible.However,due to the gender restriction of jazz dance,its universality is low,and it is difficult to promote it in most middle schools.
