Based on the research method of grounded theory,this paper obtained the original data through interviews with 23 international students from six universities in Qingdao.In addition,open coding,spindle coding,selective coding,saturation test and theoretical model construction of the original data are carried out,and the content of education needs of international students is studied.Through the research,it is found that the educational needs of international students can be divided into four categories: learning needs,living needs,interpersonal communication needs and development needs.Learning needs mainly include language and culture needs,professional learning needs and teachers' teaching needs.Life demand mainly includes urban environment demand,school environment demand and leisure and entertainment demand.The interpersonal communication needs mainly include the communication between teachers and students,classmates,friends and others.Development needs mainly include the overseas students' willingness to take part-time jobs and employment development needs.The educational needs of overseas students are dynamic and hierarchical.The educational needs of foreign students in different periods are different.International students have a strong need for life and interpersonal communication in the early stage of enrollment.In the middle period of studying abroad,the demand for learning and interpersonal communication is more obvious;In the later period of study abroad,which is the period of graduation,students' need for development becomes more urgent.Foreign students who are not classmates also have different educational needs.Undergraduates pay more attention to the needs of life and interpersonal communication.Master's and doctoral students pay more attention to learning needs and development needs.In this study,the factors affecting the educational needs of international students are divided into external factors and internal factors.External factors mainly include epidemic situation,urban construction and services,and school management.Internal factors include the personal character and adaptability of international students.Finally,according to the content and development characteristics of education demand for overseas students in China,the paper finds out the existing problems from the four aspects of education demand for overseas students in China and puts forward optimization strategies and suggestions.
