General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out at the National Conference on Ideological and Political Education in Colleges and Universities that China’s higher education shoulders the major task of cultivating builders and successors of the socialist cause who are fully developed morally,intellectually,physically and aesthetically.The foundation for the establishment of colleges and universities is to cultivate people by virtue.As can be seen from the speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping,universities undertake the fundamental task of cultivating people by virtue,and university spirit is the soul and core of a university.In the historical development,it embodies the values of generations of university teachers and students as well as the earnest expectations for future comers.Therefore,the cultivation of university spirit can well accomplish the important task of cultivating moral education in colleges and universities.This paper adopts philosophy,ideological and political pedagogy,statistics and other multidisciplinary theories as the guidance to explore the cultivation of university spirit.Starting with investigation and research,this paper deeply understands the current situation of the cultivation of university spirit,thus analyzes the reasons for the deficiency,and finally puts forward the cultivation path of university spirit from multiple perspectives.First of all,the background and significance of the cultivation of university spirit are expounded,a large number of relevant research literature is consulted,and the current research status of university spirit is understood.Secondly,the thesis of university spirit to define the concept of university at the same time,in the cultivation of university spirit,university concepts are expounded respectively,and discusses in detail the characteristics of university spirit should be independent and free academic spirit,and constantly develop innovative,practical and scientific spirit,people-oriented spirit of humanistic spirit and social returns At the same time,it probes into the four effects of university spirit on universities,university teachers,university students and society.Then,through the sorting and analysis of the ancient Chinese university spirit,the paper shows that the university spirit is not invariable,but has been endowed with new connotation and historical mission with the development of The Times,which has played a good demonstration and inspiration role to the cultivation of the university spirit in the new era.Then,in the process of writing the paper,through the form of questionnaire to college teachers and college students,the investigation and research,analysis of the current situation of the cultivation of college spirit in colleges and universities,especially the analysis of the reasons for its achievements and deficiencies,so that the cultivation of college spirit is more targeted.This paper,by taking the university spirit as the breakthrough point,excavates the education value of the university spirit,and studies the feasible path of cultivating the university spirit.Finally,it is proposed that the cultivation of university spirit should be guided by the socialist core values,carried by the school motto and the history and culture of alumni,based on the construction of campus culture,based on traditional culture,and based on the ideological and political education.
