As an important part of chemistry core literacy,‘evidential reasoning and model cognition’ is of great significance to develop students’ chemistry thinking and guide students to master scientific inquiry methods.Combining various teaching methods and studying the implementation methods of core literacy in chemistry classroom is the direction of teachers’ active exploration.In the chapter of crystal structure and properties,due to the abstract and complex microstructure of matter,it is necessary to use the model to assit students to understand the characteristics of microstructure.The model plays a very important role in the teaching of this chapter.The establishment of the model requires reasonable reasoning of evidence on the basis of scientific inquiry,which meets the requirements of ‘evidence reasoning and model cognition’ literacy for the development of students’ ability.Combined with the specific content of core literacy,based on the analysis of the teaching content and teaching difficulties of crystal structure and properties,this paper puts forward the teaching strategies of guiding students to collect evidence through the process of problem situation and activity inquiry,combining with the visualization teaching software Diamond to assist students to understand the crystal structure,guide students to establish the cognitive model of crystal structure,and use the model to solve the problem,so as to provide reference ideas and methods for the teaching of crystal structure and properties and the cultivation of core literacy.The main contents of this study include the following aspects:First of all,the literature analysis method is used to understand the latest progress in the study of ‘evidential reasoning’ and ‘model cognition’ literacy.The concepts of‘evidential reasoning’ and ‘model cognition’ are defined,and the theoretical basis of this paper is expounded.Then,interview and questionnaire survey were conducted on teachers and students in practice schools on the problems existing in the teaching of crystal structure and properties and the cultivation status of evidence reasoning and model cognition.According to the survey results,the teaching strategies of cultivating students’ ‘evidential reasoning and model cognition’ literacy in crystal structure and properties teaching are proposed.Taking the teaching contents of ‘crystal and amorphous’,‘cell’ and ‘ionic crystal’ as examples,combined with the teaching strategies and the cultivation methods of ‘evidential reasoning and model cognition’,the teaching process is designed and applied to the chemistry classroom teaching in senior two.The teaching effect is evaluated and summarized through classroom observation,student interviews and literacy test,and the conclusion is drawn.The results show that the classroom teaching based on ‘evidence reasoning and model cognition’ can effectively promote the development of students’ evidence consciousness and model cognition ability.Through the Diamond software to display the crystal microstructure,students can accurately construct the crystal structure cognitive model and improve their ability to solve problems by using the model.Students actively participate in classroom activities,learning initiative and problem inquiry consciousness,classroom teaching effect is improved.This research will provide a good and useful reference for high school chemistry teaching.
