The heavy academic burden of high school students is a more serious problem in current education,and cognitive load theory mainly elaborates how to rationally regulate cognitive resources in the learning process to help students reduce the burden of learning.Experiment is the quintessence of physics teaching and the key for students to learn physics well.This article is mainly under the guidance of cognitive load theory,starting from the three kinds of cognitive load that affect learning,combining the characteristics of physics experiment teaching,designing and optimizing the teaching strategy of cognitive load,and applying them in actual achieve the purpose of reducing students' learning burden and helping students learn efficiently.The article can be divided into the following parts:The first part is theoretical research.Using the literature research method,we sorted out the related research of the current cognitive load theory,and the research content and ideas are determined.Clarify the concept,classification and theoretical structure of cognitive load,and lay a theoretical foundation for research.The second part is the questionnaire survey.In order to understand the current cognitive load of high school students in physics experiments,based on the relevant literature on cognitive load combined with the characteristics of physics experiments,a questionnaire in line with the cognitive load of high school students was compiled.A survey of the current cognitive load of students in two schools of different levels showed that the cognitive load of high school students is at a medium level,and the internal cognitive load is the highest.The article also analyzes the reasons for the results of the questionnaire and the actual teaching to provide a realistic basis for formulating targeted strategies.The third part is about the formulation of strategies.Guided by cognitive load theory,combined with the characteristics of physics experiment teaching and the results of questionnaire surveys,according to the three categories of cognitive load,the physics experiment teaching strategy is proposed: Reducing cognitive difficulty and considering the level of knowledge of students to reduce the internal cognitive load;Reduce the external cognitive load in the way of optimizing the presentation of learning materials from teachers' teaching methods,multimedia teaching,choice of experimental equipment and improvement of experimental manuals;Increase the related cognitive load from stimulating students' learning motivation,improving classroom participation and promoting students' independent thinking.The fourth part is experimental research.Set up controlled experiments,design two experimental classes of different experimental types,integrate strategies into teaching design,and implement them in the experimental class.After the experiment,the self-assessment form and academic performance of the two classes of students are compared and analyzed to test whether the strategy is effective.The experimental results show that the experimental group's psychological stress level is lower than that of the control group,the cognitive resources consumed are lower than that of the control group,and academic performance is slightly higher than that of the control group.However,the two groups have little difference in the difficulty of perceiving materials,indicating that the strategy can alleviate students burden of learning.Finally,it summarizes the conclusions and innovations of this research,and puts forward deficiencies and prospects.
