With the development of science and technology,new types of creative scientific and innovative talents are able to meet the needs of today's society,and STEAM education can break the inherent boundaries between disciplines and cultivate students' ability to solve real-life problems through an interdisciplinary approach,thus enhancing students' comprehensive literacy and creativity,and its concept meets the needs of talents at the current stage of China's development.In this paper,we adopt project-based teaching method to design and practice a case study on the integration of STEAM education concept into the teaching of middle school mathematics graphics and geometry.Literature research,interviews,questionnaires,statistics and analysis were used in the process of this study,and the main research contents are as follows.First,based on the characteristics of STEAM education concept,the thesis analyzes the curriculum teaching objectives,textbook contents,and learning objectives of middle school mathematics graphics and geometry part,and investigates the current situation of middle school students' learning of graphics and geometry.Through the analysis,we get that it is necessary and feasible to integrate STEAM education concept into middle school mathematics graphics and geometry.Secondly,the general process of teaching cases under the STEAM education concept was sorted out through the project-based teaching method,and a teaching case of "Pattern Design" and "Measuring the Height of Flagpole" based on this concept was designed,and the STEAM education evaluation mechanism was further designed for this teaching mode.Finally,the teaching practice of "Measuring the Height of Flagpoles" was combined with the internship experience.The practice process was compared and analyzed with the teaching under STEAM education by observing the quality lesson of "Measuring the Height of Flagpoles",reflecting that the integration of STEAM education into the middle school mathematics classroom helps to achieve the teaching objectives,helps to cultivate students' core literacy in mathematics,and improves students' overall quality.
