The development of science and technology is becoming more and more rapid,and the problems associated with it,such as the accumulation of knowledge,the loose connection of disciplines,the complexity of science education and so on,are becoming more and more prominent.In order to enable students to establish the connection between knowledge and form an integrated understanding of various disciplines of natural science,it is particularly important to design and construct the science curriculum around the overall concept.This study is a response to this trend of the times.The question to be studied in this study is: Based on the concept of big ideas education,what big ideas should students master in the course of Science in the stage of compulsory education? How should these big ideas be organized in the science curriculum? At present,how reasonable is the design of science curriculum in China in the selection and organization of curriculum content,especially basic scientific concepts,and what areas need to be improved?This study is mainly discussed from the following aspects: First,by searching relevant materials,this paper combs the research results of big ideas,curriculum organization and learning psychology,and defines the theoretical basis of this study and the evaluation criteria of the rationality of curriculum design;Second,based on the concept of big idea education,this paper compares the big ideas and specific concepts under the big ideas in the science curriculum standards for primary schools in compulsory education,the science curriculum standards for compulsory education,the next generation of science education standards and science education with big ideas,selects which big ideas should be mastered by the science curriculum in the stage of compulsory education,and constructs the big idea system of the science curriculum in compulsory education,And make a reasonable evaluation of the screening of big ideas in the science curriculum in the current stage of compulsory education in China;Third,based on the concept of big idea education,this paper compares the organization of big ideas in China's compulsory education science curriculum and NGSS science curriculum,determines how to organize the big ideas in the science curriculum,and how to organize the big ideas in China's current compulsory education science curriculum design.Finally,it puts forward some suggestions for the next optimization of the curriculum design of Science in compulsory education in China.Through the research,it is found that there are some problems in the selection of big ideas in the curriculum design of science for compulsory education in China,such as unclear inclusion relationship,miscellaneous content and lack of understanding of the essence of science,while there are some problems in the organization of big ideas of science,such as lack of continuity and neglect of the correlation of concepts in the discipline field.This study holds that the science curriculum of compulsory education should be designed and constructed according to the concept of "advanced learning",reduce unnecessary repetition,pay attention to the application of interdisciplinary concepts,and enhance the attention to the essence of science and the sociality of science.
