With the introduction of core literacy in mathematics,it has become an action guide to guide teachers in instructional design and implementation,as well as the ultimate goal of education in the subject of mathematics,in line with the educational philosophy advocated by the current era and social development.The research on teaching and learning of integer multiplication based on core literacy in mathematics is in line with the requirements of curriculum reform for mathematics teaching and learning,and is conducive to expanding the case of teaching integer multiplication.Integer multiplication is the beginning of students' learning multiplication operations,the foundation of decimal multiplication,fraction multiplication and even division,and is a quality content for developing students' core literacy in mathematics.This thesis understands,analyzes and summarizes the current teaching status and problems of whole number multiplication by using questionnaires,interviews and classroom observations based on the literature related to core literacy in mathematics and teaching whole number multiplication.According to the survey,the main problems are as follows:(1)teachers do not know enough about the core literacy of mathematics;(2)teachers do not grasp the teaching content accurately;(3)teachers neglect students' understanding of arithmetic;(4)teachers neglect the accumulation of mathematical activity experience.In response to the above problems,combined with educational teaching theories,this study proposes strategies for teaching integer multiplication based on core literacy from three aspects:(1)teachers should strengthen their understanding of core literacy in mathematics;(2)teachers should update their concepts of teaching calculation;(3)teachers should improve and grow through reflection;(4)in-depth interpretation of teaching materials to explore the literacy components.(5)setting teaching objectives oriented to core literacy in mathematics based on the curriculum;(6)creating contexts to develop students' mathematical thinking;(7)communicating arithmetic algorithms with the help of visual models;(8)penetrating mathematical thinking and methods to accumulate experience in mathematical activities;(9)organizing teaching rationally to emphasize students' main position.At the same time,this study analyzes the content of integer multiplication from two aspects: teaching content and training objectives,and explains which core mathematical literacy should be cultivated in teaching integer multiplication,so as to improve mathematics teachers' understanding of cultivating core mathematical literacy in integer multiplication from a theoretical perspective.The project is designed and implemented by taking "multi-digit multiplication by a single digit" as an example.Through designing three specific teaching cases,we hope to apply the core literacy-based teaching strategies for multiplying whole numbers in elementary school mathematics,and to improve students' core literacy through feedback and improvement in the actual classroom.
