It has become the main content of curriculum reform in the world to change the traditional teaching methods of teachers and learning methods of students,the process on which should be based on the learners' experience.The proposal of inquiry teaching conforms to the development trend of education reform,and makes the focus of history curriculum change from teachers' teaching to students' learning,and from learning results to learning process.At present,how to improve students' active participation in the course practice is one of the difficulties of inquiry teaching.Therefore,the author looks for typical schools implementing inquiry-based teaching and goes into front-line classrooms,analyzing and summarizing the achievements and shortcomings of inquirybased teaching in XH middle school by using interview survey and qualitative observation method,and thus make some suggestions based on its shortcomings.The author takes XH Middle School as a typical case,hoping to provide some references of inquiry-based teaching for other schools.The main content of this paper can be divided into six parts:The first part is the introduction,which mainly analyzes and expounds the background and reason of the topic,sorts out the research status of historical inquiry teaching at home and abroad,and introduces the main methods and significance of the research,so as to make preliminary preparations for the research of this paper.The second part refers to the concept definition and theoretical basis,centering on the connotation of inquiry teaching and its derived concepts,and explainning the relevant theoretical basis: constructivist learning theory,subjective education theory,lifelong education theory and the theoretical basis of inquiry teaching.The third part refers to the understanding of the current situation of XH middle school history teaching through some investigations,analyzing the current situation of XH middle school history inquiry teaching implementation from varing perspectives of eaching objectives,teaching methods,teaching content,teaching tools and education evaluation.The fourth part analyzes and summarizes the achievements of XH middle school's historical inquiry in the schools,teachers and students by understanding the situation of the above implementation,so as to extract the references for other schools.The fifth part analyzes the shortcomings and causes of historical inquiry teaching in XH Middle School based on the understanding of the implementation,and the author makes some suggestions on and puts forward some methods for different teaching periods and key links of inquiry teaching,so that other schools can reflect on theirs make some improvements.The sixth part is the conclusion,which mainly summarizes the research work carried out in this paper,explains the limitations of the research,and puts forward prospects for the follow-up research.
