The National Innovation-Driven Development Strategy clearly points out that talent-driven development is the essence of innovative development,and it is necessary to focus on technological system innovation to find new development advantages.Therefore,it is the most important task to carry out educational reform and train innovative talents.However,as for as the current STEM education in colleges,the course content appears to be "interdisciplinary",and the course evaluation just stays in "a beautiful graph and table".The real state of students is no different from other courses.As an innovative problem-solving method,design thinking can be effectively integrated into STEM teaching to improve students' thinking and practical ability.Based on this,the author tries to build a STEM teaching model based on design thinking in the context of higher education reform to strengthen the connection between disciplines and further guide students to apply discipline knowledge and skills to solve complex problems.On the basis of sorting out the teaching modes of higher education and STEM education,this study takes design thinking as the starting point and proposes the core elements of STEM teaching mode based on design thinking.Centering on the goal of promoting the development of college students' practical ability and innovation ability,STEM curriculum development for college students is carried out.In the course "Intelligent Teaching AIDS Design in Discipline Teaching" for undergraduates of a University in Shanghai,the STEM teaching mode based on design thinking was implemented,and the teaching mode was adjusted according to the task performance of students in the product design of "Intelligent Garbage" and "Intelligent Teaching AIDS" and the achievement of teaching objectives.With the help of the design-based method,the STEM teaching mode based on design thinking is constantly adjusted and improved in accordance with the path of teaching mode construction--curriculum development--teaching implementation--teaching mode reflection and modification.Through continuous reflection and improvement,we finally get a stable and effective teaching model.Through the analysis of the teaching effect through relevant questionnaires and interviews,it is found that the teaching model proposed in this study can effectively improve students' technical inquiry ability,and significantly improve the six dimensions of definition,design and planning,implementation and verification,interpretation and analysis,reflection and evaluation,and expression and communication.In addition,the innovation ability and design thinking of students are also improved to some extent.After the teaching,it is found that students have a high degree of satisfaction with the class.As for students' feedback on class schedule,it will be further improved in the future teaching implementation.
