In recent years,countries have paid more and more attention to basic education,and the ways of educating students have evolved with the times.The New Curriculum Standards clearly state that “effective mathematics learning activities cannot rely solely on imitation and memorisation.Cooperation and communication are equally important.”In today's teaching process,more and more emphasis should be placed on the student-centered approach:the student is the master of learning while the teacher is the organiser,guide and collaborator of learning.Discussion-based teaching is a method of teaching way in which students are inspired to express their opinions on specific issues through pre-design and organization under the careful preparation and guidance of teachers,in order to achieve certain teaching goals.The teacher guides and inspires the students,and the students are guided by the teacher to engage in conscious thinking and exploration.Students' learning is always in a positive state of “problem-thinking-exploring-answering”.Although the discussion-based teaching method has been proposed very early,there are still problems in designing an effective discussion-based teaching classroom in high school mathematics education,for example,students are more differentiated or teachers have problems in understanding their role in the discussion-based teaching classroom,or students' initiative is not strong.This thesis aims to solve two main problems:(1)what are the differences between the discussion teaching method and the traditional teaching method,as well as their respective difficulties and problems in the teaching process of mathematics function in senior one,?(2)Is the discussion teaching method helpful to students' function learning in the teaching process of mathematics function in senior one? In response to the above problems,this thesis combines the literature research method,the empirical method and the experimental method to study the connotation,characteristics,teaching principles,and teaching strategies of the discussion-based teaching method.Moreover,it conducts an in-depth analysis of the experimental results and data of the implementation of the discussion-based teaching method.The following conclusions are drawn: The discussion teaching method is obviously different from the traditional teaching method in the design of teaching plan,the questions raised in the classroom,the focus of teaching and the subjectivity of students.This paper uses the discussion teaching method to explain the mathematical function of senior one.The research shows that it is feasible to use the discussion teaching method in the classroom teaching of senior one function,and students can also master the basic knowledge of function.In addition,this thesis attempts to combine theory with practice in discussion-style teaching to achieve the unity of knowledge and practice,and hopes to enrich one's own teaching experience and improve students' mathematics learning ability.
