In order to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation,we should strengthen the reform of basic education,actively promote curriculum reform and improve the construction of teaching materials.Illustrations in textbooks have unique educational value,in order to improve the effectiveness of the PEP Ordinary High School Textbook Biology(hereinafter referred to as the new textbook)illustrations,a comprehensive update.At the time of full use of new textbooks in 2022,in order to excavate the core literacy value of textbooks and explore the scientific thinking way of textbook illustrations,this paper takes the compulsory 1 Molecular and Cell and compulsory 2 Genetic and Evolution of PEP as the research object.Firstly,the feasibility of cultivating scientific thinking through illustrations is explored by analyzing the apparent characteristics of the number,color,graphic correlation and illustration science of the new textbook illustrations.Then it analyzes the scientific thinking method implied in the illustration content,manifestation and combination form of the new textbook;finally,based on the previous two steps,the IMC(Illustration,Method,Concept)model of cultivating scientific thinking is constructed based on three levels of textbooks,illustrations and concepts,and three elements of illustration selection,method analysis and concept construction,which is used for teaching practice test.The main results are as follows:Through the analysis of the apparent characteristics,the following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The total number of illustrations in compulsory 1 and compulsory 2 textbooks is 179 and 182,respectively.The total number and the distribution of chapters and columns are relatively balanced,indicating that the unified study of the two textbooks is reasonable.(2)The overall color of the textbook illustration is blue and purple cold,which is conducive to calm and rational thinking;in the specific illustration,the energy is red-orange transition color,and the warning arrow is red.The application of warm tone color is in line with psychological feelings and objective feelings,and is in line with true knowledge,consensus and common sense,which is conducive to cultivating a rigorous and pragmatic attitude to knowledge.(3)Illustration annotation uses small triangles to specify the corresponding text position,increasing the magnification shows that the annotation is higher;there are 13 different pages in the two textbooks,with a high degree of consistency,which is conducive to logical analysis and strengthening the coherence of thinking.(4)There is room for further improvement in the application of cytoskeleton color,the long chain formed by nucleotide connection,the cell wall indication of plant cell submicroscopic structure pattern,the ratio of mammal red blood cells to beaker size,and the accuracy of amniotic fluid examination schematic representation knowledge.Based on the analysis of the apparent characteristics,further analysis of the illustrations can be obtained:(1)The new textbook illustrations carry biological facts and evidence,and its different forms and combinations can train different scientific thinking methods.Based on this,the IMC model for cultivating scientific thinking is constructed.(2)The IMC model is applied to the teaching practice of ' the nature of genes ' in chapter 3 of compulsory 2 textbook,and the results show that there is no significant difference,but the average value is improved.The research shows that the new textbook illustrations have the feasibility and advantages of cultivating scientific thinking in addition to a few defects.By cultivating scientific thinking as the goal,training students ' scientific thinking methods,constructing the IMC model of the concept as the focus,it has a promoting effect on cultivating scientific thinking in the long run.
