Senior high school entrance examination,or the graduation level examination for junior high school students,is a very important examination in the compulsory stage.Meanwhile,Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, which is multi-ethnic,multilingual and multi-religious with Uyghur as the main ethnic group, has made a major reform to the secondary school examination in 2019,namely,Urumqi,which used to have independent papers and independent examinations, has been incorporated into the unified examination of the whole territory. It is therefore necessary to study the structure of the competencies that the mathematics paper of the XUAR Chinese examination desires to test. This study used SOLO Taxonomy Theory as an analytical tool and various educational research and statistical methods to statistically analyze the SOLO levels of Xinjiang's secondary school examination mathematics test papers from 2017-2021.First,the SOLO levels of multiple choice,fill-in-the-blank,and other questions were classified and statistically analyzed, and the secondary school examination mathematics test questions were classified from low to high according to the level of thinking required for candidates to answer successfully The questions were classified into four levels: Uni-structural level(U),Multi-structural level(M),Relational-structural level(R)and Extended abstract level(E).Secondly, based on the above statistical results, the SOLO levels of each year's test questions were compared macroscopically from both horizontal and vertical aspects, with the aim of explaining the changing characteristics and trends of the ability structure of the test papers before and after the reform of the Xinjiang Chinese Mathematics Examination paper,so as to provide some theoretical support for the Xinjiang Chinese Mathematics Examination paper-making group and some reference suggestions for front-line junior high school mathematics teachers as well as students. The following conclusions were obtained from the study. Before the reform of the senior high school entrance examination in Xinjiang, the proportion of the U level and the M level of the test paper in Urumqi was lower than that of the mathematics test paper of the Xinjiang Unified Examination, while the level and The proportions of both the horizontal questions and the E level questions are higher than those of the unified examination mathematics papers, which indicates that the middle school entrance examination mathematics papers in Urumqi City are more difficult than the unified examination mathematics papers before the reform of the senior high school entrance examination. At the same time,it reflects from the side that Urumqi,as the capital city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, has a higher education level than other regions in Xinjiang. After the reform of the unified examination papers for the Xinjiang Senior High School Entrance Examination, the proportion of the U level of the examination papers in the examination papers has increased significantly compared with the proportion of the examination papers before the reform.
