At present,China's cities are promoting the elderly care service system based on home care,relying on community elderly care services and supplemented by institutional elderly care services.In the past,most scholars focused on the study of material elderly care,but with the development of society and the improvement of economic level,many scholars have gradually shifted from the study of material elderly care to the study of spiritual elderly care.In contrast,the research on the spiritual needs of the elderly in retirement apartments is relatively weak.Therefore,the urgency of how to promote the elderly to be able to better age in retirement apartments and meeting their spiritual needs has become an important research topic.This study is based on the internship in G old-age apartment in G city by combing the existing literature.Through the data collection methods of questionnaires,semi-structured interviews and participant observation,the actual needs of elderly people in retirement apartments were assessed,and it was found that the needs of elderly people in retirement apartments in the areas of emotion,cultural entertainment and interpersonal interaction,and self-actualization need to be improved.On this basis,the researcher started from the spiritual level of the elderly in the nursing home,and was guided by Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory and social support theory.10self-care elderly people in G nursing home were selected as the research subjects,and the group work method was used to develop a corresponding service plan for the content of the elderly's spiritual needs,and through a series of group activities,their social support network was continuously improved to further satisfy the through a series of group activities,we continuously improved their social support network and further met the spiritual needs of the elderly in the nursing home.The findings of the study show that group work has certain professional advantages in intervening in the spiritual services of the elderly in senior housing;as a cohesive organization and platform,the group can provide ways and help to expand the social support network of the elderly in senior housing,and to a certain extent,meet the spiritual needs of the elderly in senior housing in terms of emotion,culture and recreation,interpersonal interaction and self-actualization.At the same time,there are some problems in the process of group work,such as the lack of practical experience of social workers and the single perspective of group work.Based on the summary of the study,we suggest that how to expand the social support network for the elderly in retirement apartments to improve and enhance the satisfaction of their spiritual needs.This study proposes the following recommendations: all sectors of society should pay more attention to the elderly in retirement apartments and make joint efforts to create a better retirement environment for the elderly;retirement apartments need to provide better services for the elderly in response to their diversified spiritual needs;social workers should also continue to improve their professional skills and practical services;fully explore the social support relationships of the elderly in retirement apartments and continuously improve the social support system for the elderly in retirement apartments.The social workers should also improve their professional skills and practice services;fully explore the social support relationships of the elderly in the senior housing,and continuously improve the social support system of the elderly in the senior housing,in order to better provide professional services for the elderly in the senior housing.
