Connection And Separation:The Deep Excavation And Transcendence Of Media Speed

Acceleration is a disease of the current era,media technology provides more and more convenient communication tools,but our perception of life tends to be tired and numb.Why does time-saving media technology make people not use enough time instead? In order to solve the speed paradox,we need to sort out the relationship between media technology,speed and people.The scholars such as Paul Virilio,Hartmut Rosa,Byung-Chul Han and Bernard Stiegler all regard speed as an important issue of the present era.This paper analyzes the works of the above scholars,and tries to construct the concept of "media speed" to understand the spirit of the times by analyzing the above-mentioned scholars’ works and combining with the new media paradigm shift of communication science.The starting point of this paper is that media,as a kind of intermediary,establishes the relationship between them.The different speed leads to the media to produce their own characteristics.The entanglement of time,space and media affects the development of human civilization.The first part of this paper is the construction of core concepts.Under the guidance of the core concept of media speed,this paper focuses on the analysis of four pairs of relationships between man and nature,man and self,man and other and between man and society,and points directly to four key words: presence,forgetting,burnout and alienation.The research finds that media speed is the speed perspective of media relations,and different speeds arrange different space and time,and this change of spatial and temporal dimension will change the original social relations.Speed means connecting and separating.The development of media speed brings the long-distance existence to the sensing range.When the time gap is close to the instantaneous,the original diachronic relationship will be changed into simultaneous relationship.Therefore,the change of media speed directly affects the perception of human beings to the world.This perception will also bring about forgetting,burnout and separation due to the development of speed industry.Compared with the development of media technology can not see the end,the development of human is always consistent,which also leads to the change of media,while increasing more connections,but also the corresponding forgetting.This is the separation behind the media speed connection.In terms of the specific four pairs of relations.The speed of media affects the presence of people,and people can realize remote landing across space,and thus form a new community.Media speed will also lead to the forgetting of existence,the tense arrangement of time and space and the explosion and dispersion of information lead to the life time being filled with the space-time object of media production,and finally make people forget the existence of the original.The connection of media speed will also affect the rhythm of human life.Different people and things have their own rhythm.When media connect them through speed,it is inevitable to run around and get around.Media speed itself is also a dissimilated force,which intervenes individual freedom by setting time norms.The transparency caused by speed can bring about high efficiency communication,and may also cause homogeneity,no distance and freedom.The speed of media is in sync with the development of media,not one medium replaces another,nor is it a speed replacing another.The relationship between media speed and speed is superposition.The space-time relationship contained in the new media will be superimposed in the original cognitive order of time and space.It is not only the enhancement of the connection with the distance,but also the shelter of the things around.To understand the present,we need to dive into the specific media use situation.The integration of time and space is speed and there is power behind speed.Therefore,understanding media needs to analyze the changes of the relationship between time,space and power from the point of speed.
