In 1965,in order to meet the needs of the world economy and scientific development, and to meet the needs of society and people for education, the British government successively established 34 polytechnic colleges, ushering in the era of the "dual system" of higher education. As the main body of the "non-university sector" under the dual system of higher education in the UK,the Polytechnic Institute has created an education model that is completely different from that of universities.In1992,the Polytechnic College was transformed into a university. Its experience and lessons have certain reference value for the development of vocational education in our country. This research uses historical institutionalism to build an analytical framework, analyzes the factors that promote the changes of polytechnical colleges based on the changes of polytechnical colleges, and then analyzes the contributions and shortcomings of polytechnical colleges, and provides relevant enlightenment for my country’s vocational education. This thesis is divided into four chapters to conduct research on the British Polytechnic Institute. The first chapter is the introduction, clarifying the reason and significance of this thesis, analyzing the research situation of the British Polytechnic Institute by domestic and foreign scholars, defining related concepts, explaining the research framework and methods used in this article, and analyzing innovation and deficiencies. The second chapter is the changes of the British Polytechnic Institute, sorting out the whole process of the "foundation","development" and "transformation" of the British Polytechnic Institute.Chapter 3 The historical institutionalism analysis of the changes in the British multi-technical colleges, using the historical institutionalism as the analysis framework constructed in this article,to explore the economic, political, and conceptual factors that promote the changes in the multi-technical colleges in the UK,and to explore the changes in the multi-technical colleges Path dependence and key nodes, which summarize the contributions and deficiencies of the Polytechnic Institute. The contribution of multi-technical colleges is to increase student enrollment opportunities and promote the popularization of higher education in the UK;its shortcomings are the absence of policy supervision, supporting measures are not in place, and multi-head management affects the training of talents. The fourth chapter is the enlightenment of the British Polytechnic Institute to my country. It combines the changes of the British Polytechnic Institute with the status quo of my country’s vocational education, and puts forward suggestions on standardizing the relationship between policy subjects, caring for action subjects, and improving the policy content system. |
