Lycaenidae belongs to Lepidoptera,it has about 5500 species around the world, and 146 genera.515 species and 390 subspecies were recorded from China of which 74 species belonging to 47 genera in Qinling area. Now the identification and phylogeny of Lycaenidae couldn’t get support from the morphological data of male and female genitalia. So,male genitalia of 42 species and female genitalia of 13 species were described in this thesis. This study summarized the morphology of the male and female genitalia of family Lycaenidae to offer evidence for the study of phylogeny. The morphological terminology was adopted Tuxen,Chou and so on.All the tag specimens were identified by routine methods.Photographs were made using a Leica ZOOM 2000 microscope with a O-image CCD.Images were produced using the software Synoptic Automontage. Results are as follows:1.The tegumen of Lyacenidae’s male genitalia has become vestigial in some extent, and the shape of valvula among species was greatly different.Female genitalia among genera and species were significantly different that it mainly manifested in the sclerotization and shape of lamella antevaginalis, lamella postvaginalis, signum, papilla analis. The signums were divided into symmetrical type(female genitalia paired and equal in size,or completely absent)and asymmetrical type(female genitalia paired but asymmetriacal in size).2.To compare the female genitalia’s morphological characteristics of Chrysozephyrus choui with Chrysozephyrus scintillans,we support that they are two independent species.3.Providing the identified characteristics to the sibling species Tongeia filicaudis and Tongeia davidi in the genus Tongeia.4.This study carefully compared morphological characteristics of male genitalia based on taxonomic category, and comfirmed the identified characteristics in each taxon.5.Supporting the state of Tarakinae erected by Wang in 2001 as an independent subfamily.
