The Research Of Guide Map Design

At present,the guide map design and the cartography research have a great intersection,but belong to different subject areas.Guide map is an effective means of public awareness of space,provides visual spatial information cognition for people and guide their behavior,which is part of the guide system design,but also the information design of a special chart representation.According to the number of specialized research on the map is far less than the logo design,in terms of content,most only stay in the tourism industry.The author believe that,from the viewpoint of both disciplines of cartography and guide map factors,there is much room for exploration of guide map design and research.This thesis divided into three large chapters altogether.First of all,from different historical periods,different forms of the map,history,culture,background and theme of each period were compared,showing the diversity of map development,to explore beyond the natural geography of another layer of meaning--the history of the world,and in information generation context derived from the concept of guide map.showing the diversity of map development,to explore beyond the natural geography of another layer of meaning--the history of the world,and in information generation context derived from the concept of guide map.Secondly,as the main information dissemination perspective,and makes a deep analysis on the map elements and the social function respectively: The former from microcosmic point of view,analysis of the role of all the elements in the guide map design,they carry out their duties.The latter uses case analysis method of guide map social function classification,which ascertain the importance of information and understanding of information needs.Finally,the author based guide map of the social function and the spread of the object,summed up two principle of the guide map design—the universality and rational aesthetic accuracy of the information to understand,and then based on the user’s information needs of guide map design method is proposed,with an emphasis on the visual aspects of the conversion.Since the development of information technology and the arrival of the era of artificial intelligence,the multi dimension spatial information become a road map of the new forms of expression.This study involves signage system design,information visualization,environmental art design and cartography other disciplines belong the subject category of applied science.Therefore,this study focused on the implementation of the design method.From the Big Data of geographic information and user needs to collect information hierarchy architecture to visual information conversion,which constitute the guide map of the three forming step.Finally,persuadeing user behavior,and forming a set of map design method of complete process from the map to the public and the public’s feedback of the two aspects.
