Abstract/Summary:
Trust has played a significant role in the maintenance of social links, which has attracted a great deal of concern from a diverse range of fields including economics, finance and social science.Understanding the form of trust in human society and the origin of selfish individuals is a challenging problem and of great significance.Based on the framework of the evolutionary game theory,N-player trust game model and second-order reputation mechanism, this paper focuses on the impact of different second-order reputation evaluation rules with N-player trust game. The innovation and main contents include the following two aspects:(1)This paper studies the influence of continuous reputation on trust game, which is based on the second-order reputation evaluation norms.A novel N-player trust game is proposed by combining the payoff-driven and reputation-driven update processes.Four classical “second-order” norms are introduced to evaluate individual reputation, which will be judged by both their own strategies and the reputation status of their counterparts. There is an optimal interval that can promote the continuous emergence of trust between investors and trustworthy trustees. The current results are of high importance to understand the emergence of mutually beneficial symbiosis of biological groups inside an unknown environment.(2)Based on N-player trust game model,we find that untrustworthy trustees would change their strategies with the help of a second-order reputation signal in different networks.Networks are mainly divided into lattice networks,scale-free networks and random networks. The simulation results are studied under the same network size, through different average distributions and different densities. An appropriate reputation factor and average distribution can effectively attract untrustworthy trustees to imitate prosocial strategies. In addition, with the same degree distribution and same network topologies, the group net wealth will be decreased which means the aggregation coefficient promotes the improvement of the trust level; On the contrary, the aggregation coefficient of network increases, which inhibits the improvement of global trust level.
