The study of low-temperature flotation of middle and low-grade gravity separation phosphate tailings in Xingfa,Yichang,China,in order to obtain a new flotation collector with good flotation performance at low temperature.MONA-135,a multi-functional cooperative collector,was prepared by mixing cotton-oil fatty acid with various kinds of Surfactant to screen the best synergistic Surfactant,it was applied to low temperature flotation of phosphate tailings from gravity separation in Xingfa,Yichang.The fatty acid MON-135 of cottonseed oil was evaluated by single positive flotation test.The fatty acid MON-135 of cottonseed oil was added with Surfactant,AEO-3,AEO-5,AEO-6,AEO-7,AEO-9,AEO-9P,AEO-15,respectivel y,3%,5%,7.5%,10%of each Surfactant is used for low-temperature flotation,the flotation temperature is 9-10,a better synergistic effect of Surfactant AEO-5 is selected,and the added mass ratio of AEO-5 is 7.5%,a new type of collector MONA-135 for low temperature flotation was obtained.MONA-135 was used as the collector of positive flotation,and the tailings of middle and low grade phosphateore in Yichang were used as the test material.The 17.1%raw ore was subjected to a closed-loop test of positive flotation-roughing-cleaning and reverse flotation-roughing-sweeping.The flotation pulp temperature was 10°C,under the condition of particle size 0.074mm 86.1%,conc entrate yield 53.19%,concentrate P2O5grade 26.81%,recovery 82.86%,positive flotation tailings P2O57.14%,reverse flotation tailings P2O5 grade 3.30%were obtained.The results of Potentiodynamic test showed that the reagent MONA-135 adsorbed on the surface of collophanite and dolomite by chemical adsorption,which decreased the potentiodynamic and increased the hydrophobicity and improved the floatability of the mineral.The potentiodynamic test shows that MONA-135 is mainly adsorbed on the surface of phosphate rock and dolomite by“Activated adsorption”,and its adsorption ability with mineral surface is stronger than that of physical adsorption,it may be that the ethoxyl group increases the affinity with water and decreases the adsorption on the surface of mineral,and the adsorption on quartzis physical adsorption.The surface tension test showed that the surface tension curve of MONA-135 and MON-135 had a tendency to coincide,but the surface tension of MONA-135 was slightly higher than that of MON-135 when the concentration of the drug was more than 100 mg/l.It may be that the amount of EO group in AEO-5 is not enough.Only at high concentration,the hydrophobic group is slightly more than the EO group,can the Surfactant hydrophobicity be slightly enhanced.The results of single mineral flotation show that the collecting capacity of MONA-135 is higher than that of quartz when Ph=9.5.MONA-135 has good floatability to phosphate rock,and can effectively capture phosphate rock and dolomite under suitable dosage.Quartz almost does not float in both low dosage and high dosage,which is beneficial to Si O2 removal by positive flotation.The results of IR showed that the functional groups of MONA-135 were-COOH,-OH,-COOR and-COR.The hydrophilicity of-OH and C2H5O-is strong,the hydrophobicity of-COOH and other polar groups is strong,the hydrophobicity of the hydrophobicity group increases,the hydrophobicity of the hydrophobicity group increases with the water affinity,thus improving the adsorption ability and the collection ability of MONA-135.The results of tem show that MON-135 has smaller particle size,more dispersion and larger specific surface area,while MONA-135 has agglomeration phenomenon.It could be that the hydrophobic groups Surfactant towards the inside,trapping the collector inside,while the hydrophilic groups come into contact with water,increasing solubility and forming aggregates.
