A comprehensive and scientific performance evaluation of an enterprise can provide an accurate measure of the degree of achievement of the goals set by the enterprise,and is also an important way to optimise business management and lead high-quality innovative development of the enterprise.However,at present,the performance evaluation mode of traditional financial indicators dominates in Chinese enterprises,especially many coal enterprises,which are still using the traditional financial indicator evaluation method due to the influence of factors such as the previous rough development mode.Although this method can meet the performance evaluation needs of Chinese enterprises for a certain period of time,due to the lagging and one-sided nature of financial indicators,it may make managers overly focus on short-term profits without regard to the long-term sustainable development of the enterprise,making it difficult to achieve the goal of maximising enterprise value.As can be seen,a single performance evaluation method is clearly no longer applicable in the current situation.Therefore,under the guidance of the strategic objectives of the enterprise,it is imperative to build a set of performance evaluation system that is in line with the development characteristics of coal enterprises and their own reality.Enterprises should try to reform the performance evaluation system effectively and make bold innovations on the basis of which performance evaluation is organically combined with enterprise value management,so as to form a new performance evaluation system.The paper firstly compares the relevant literature on enterprise performance evaluation,provides a detailed introduction to EVA,BSC and EVA-BSC combined performance evaluation methods,and points out the necessity and feasibility of integrating EVA and BSC to provide theoretical guidance for the writing of the paper.Secondly,Yan Kuang Energy was selected as the subject of the study.The case study method was used to analyse the current situation of the company’s performance evaluation through in-depth field research.Based on the existing problems,we propose the construction of a performance evaluation system based on EVA-BSC and explain the applicability of the new system to Yankuang Energy.Once again,starting from Yan Kuang Energy’s strategic objectives,a strategy map is drawn up to decompose the company’s strategic objectives into five dimensions in turn: financial dimension,customer dimension,internal process dimension,learning and growth dimension and social responsibility dimension.The fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method was also explained,helping Yan Kuang Energy to build a scientific and reasonable performance evaluation system.The system was then applied to Yankuang Energy,and the operating data for 2017-2021 was selected as a reference basis for evaluating the company’s overall operating performance using the fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.The evaluation was combined with expert opinion to give the company a ’good’ performance rating.Finally,the EVA-BSC performance evaluation system provides some suggestions and safeguards for the implementation of the system,with a view to achieving the long-term strategic development goals and improving the competitiveness of the enterprise,as well as providing some reference and application for other domestic coal enterprises.
