| Ecofeminist thought is the product of an organic combination of ecological thinking and the feminist movement, and is centred on a complex development of the feminist movement into a ’fully ecological’ position. In the context of the global ecological crisis, women play an active role in protecting the ecological environment, promoting women’s emancipation, and fostering economic growth.Ecofeminism is centred on the relationship between women and nature, and argues that the oppression of women and nature is rooted in patriarchal culture and dualistic ways of thinking, with the aim of achieving women’s emancipation, the advancement of women and the protection of nature. It therefore rejects ’male-centrism’ and at the same time criticises dualistic ways of thinking and its patriarchal worldview, and advocates the construction of a concept of equality that respects women and nature in the context of a non-patriarchal worldview. On a theoretical level, ecofeminist thinking reinterprets the harmonious symbiosis between man and man,and man and nature, from a uniquely female perspective. On a practical level, the ethics of care embedded in ecofeminism emphasises women’s natural advantage of being closer to and integrated into nature than men,and hopes to enhance women’s status and participation in ecological environmental protection to realise the protection of nature. This has important implications for China’s response to the ecological crisis and the formulation of environmental governance policies, and helps to promote the development of ecological civilisation in China and the modernisation of harmony between man and nature.Exploring ecofeminist thought and its contemporary value is divided into the following four main parts. The introductory part of the first chapter introduces the background to the selection of this paper, the significance of the study and a review of domestic and international research, the research methodology and innovation points.Chapter two gives an overview of the formation and development of ecofeminist thought and its theoretical origins. The background to the emergence of ecofeminist thought has been through the feminist movement and the three waves, and it is clear that the theoretical origins of ecofeminist thought come from five sources: green theory, the religiosity of ’goddess’ worship, social ecology, deep ecology and the Marxist idea of women’s liberation. The feminist movement is the foundation of feminist thinking and is an integral part of ecofeminism.Rather,it seeks to analyse the root causes of women’s oppression from a unilateral to a multifaceted perspective, challenging the patriarchal social order and hoping to promote the dual development of women’s emancipation and ecological protection through a feminist perspective on the relationship between humans and nature, while constantly improving one’s own knowledge and self-criticism and self-reinvention.Chapter third provides an overview of ecofeminism’s ideology, focusing on the critique of the modern mechanical view of nature and patriarchy, the exploration of the relationship between women and nature, and the construction of a new ethical relationship between humans and humans and between humans and nature. In the context of a patriarchal society, the dualistic way of thinking and the "conceptual structure of oppression" are thoroughly criticised, and the relationship between women and nature is explored in terms of the similarity between women and nature and the homogeneity of the oppression by patriarchy. In the end,the two dimensions of nature and women are used to restore the value of nature itself and to establish equality and mutuality in order to build a new ethical relationship between man and man and man and nature, and to promote the liberation of women and nature and the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.Chapter four Exploring the Value and Implications of Ecofeminist Thought at a Theoretical and Practical Level.Despite the limitations of its irrational elements in dealing with problems and the one-sidedness of its excessive focus on the concept of the female perspective,it still has value and significance for the development of eco-philosophical theory and the construction of ecological civilisation, and has positive inspirational effects on the ecological construction of China. The emergence of the concept of ecofeminism not only enriches the theory of the view of nature, but also provides a unique gender perspective for human understanding of nature, and proposes concrete construction measures to promote the construction of ecological civilization in China, including such contents as maintaining and realizing ecological justice, being a practitioner and promoter of ecological civilization, and improving the mechanism for women’s participation in the construction of ecological civilization. |
