| As competition in the knitwear industry intensifies, yarn companies,as the source suppliers of the knitwear industry, have introduced many different types of yarns and colors for designers to choose from in order to meet the needs of different markets. In the process of yarn selection, designers not only pay attention to the material, texture and feel of the yarn itself, but also the hue, lightness and saturation of the color, and whether the emotional image conveyed by the yarn matches the image in the designer’s mind, and whether it can be effectively selected by the designer among many products.Emotional design is an important design method that focuses on the user and aims to meet the needs of the user. This research focuses on the three levels of emotion in emotional design and its application in the design and development of wool knitting yarn. The relationship between the form and content of yarn swatches and the emotional imagery can help designers to improve the convenience and accuracy of yarn selection. The main research contents and conclusions of this project are as follows:(1)Through the research of different yarn enterprises, the composition elements of yarn color cards are divided into form level and content level, and the composition elements of content and form level are sorted out and summarized, and the form level elements are attributed to the appearance design and use design of yarn cards;the content level elements are attributed to the display of yarn color and hand feeling emotional imagery, and the emotional design theory is applied to classify the form and content of yarn color cards into different Emotional design theory is also applied to classify the form and content of yarn swatches into different emotional levels.(2)Using a semi-structured interview format, the interview outline is designed and detailed questions are prepared for yarn enterprises and designers, and the interview content is sorted out to suggest that yarn enterprises can consider adopting emotional design methods to improve the design of yarn color cards. In the form level, the designers are concerned about the appearance of the color card, which directly affects their judgment of the quality of the card, and whether the yarn information covered by the color card is complete, which directly affects their experience of using the card.(3)Using the imagery scale method,we analyzed and studied the influence of the interaction between color and hand feel on human subjective emotional imagery, established the association between wool yarn color and hand feel design elements and emotional imagery, and constructed a three-dimensional color semantic space to provide reference for designers’ yarn selection. The color and hand feel of the experimental yarns were tested by using spectrophotometer,Phabrometer and KES fabric style meter, and the objective test results were compared and analyzed with the subjective semantic scores. It can be seen that the subjective and objective results of the color and hand feel sample data are not completely consistent at the level of physical stimulation and five sense perception.Through correlation analysis, the correspondence between different emotional dimension levels can be known, and through regression analysis, the semantic words that have the main influence on the preference degree can be known, and guidance and suggestions can be provided for designers’ yarn and color selection based on this functional relationship and the results of correlation analysis;Based on the results of correlation statistical analysis, three semantic words that can be used to build a three-dimensional semantic space axis are extracted,"cold-warm","soft-hard","delicate-rough ",which can intuitively understand the distribution of different color samples in the imagery space and provide reference for designers’ yarn selection. In summary, this topic discusses the convenience as well as accuracy of designer’s yarn selection in the process of emotional expression and transmission of wool knitting yarn, provides an emotional design strategy for optimal design of yarn color cards, and provides ideas and methods for communication between yarn enterprises and designers with emotional imagery information. |
