Research On Creative Thinking Of Craftsmen Of Huayao Cross Stitch From The Perspective Of Embodied Cognition

As a kind of weaving and embroidery craft,Huayao Cross Stitch has been developed for thousands of years and contains a rich local culture,which is a valuable treasure produced by the Huayao minority in their daily life and labor process.In the second generation of cognitive science,the body has become the focus of research on traditional handicrafts,and with the deepening of people’s understanding,the body has gradually developed into an essential carrier of traditional handicraft culture.The craftsman,as the creative subject,has received extensive attention.This study takes the creative thinking of embroiderers of Huayao its research content,situates the creative process of Huayao Cross Stitch in a specific cultural environment,and examines it by relating the body,behavior,and environment.This study analyzes the creativity and creative thinking of Huayao Cross Stitch in the context of individuals and community from the perspective of embodied cognition,and achieves an understanding of the creative thinking of craftsmen in groups from phenomenological and anthropological perspectives,aiming to focus on the construction of craftsmen’s subjectivity in traditional handicraft innovation and provide a feasible path for the introduction of their creative thinking in handicraft innovation design.This thesis consists of five main parts.The introductory section describes the background,significance,and methodology of the study,reviews the relevant research results,and systematically organizes the overall framework of the paper.In the second part,the 4E cognition,a representative theoretical model of embodied cognition,is adopted as the framework to explain and summarize the characteristics of craftsmen’s creativity and outline the daily creation process of embroiderers of Huayao.The third part compares the knowledge and cognitive form of designers and craftsmen,places the creative thinking of craftsmen in the community,individual,and body,and summarizes the hierarchical,intuitive,and embodied unity characteristics of craftsmen’s creative thinking.The fourth part introduces the concepts of image narration and body narration externalizes the creative thinking of embroiderers of Huayao from four aspects: visual,meaningful,bodily,and consciousness,and proposes a path to reach the creative thinking of craftsmen.Finally,it focuses on introducing theoretical research into practice,concretizing the findings of the previous paper into communication paths in the co-design of traditional handicrafts,and building a bodycentered collaborative communication approach.The conclusion further clarifies the importance and value of embodied cognitive theory and creative thinking of craftspeople for the innovation and creation of traditional handicrafts.
