The color characteristics and connotations of traditional clothing are deeply rooted in national culture and aesthetic concepts.National elements have become the focus of contemporary designers and an important source of design inspiration. The main motivation of this research is to accurately and quickly absorb the excellent color art of national costumes, promote the activation and regeneration of traditional culture, and provide decision-making references for contemporary fashion innovation design. This paper focuses on constructing a comprehensive evaluation model for color analysis and color aesthetics of modern Han folk costumes in the Jiangnan area.An automatic coloring mechanism for line draft patterns is established, which integrates user needs and realizes the automatic migration of Han folk costume color matching styles to line draft patterns. On this basis,a color analysis and automatic color recommendation software is designed and developed. The main research contents and conclusions are as follows:(1)Parsing the color design of modern Han folk costumes in the Jiangnan areaTo obtain the color relationship of modern Han folk costumes in the Jiangnan area, two color clustering methods were used in color extraction. An improved binary K-mean adaptive clustering method was used in one clustering, while the secondary clustering used the K-means clustering method.Four color characteristics of color proportion, color space distance, matching color co-occurrence rate, and color dispersion were extracted to construct a color network relationship model that displays the color matching relationship of clothing visually. At the same time, the color pedigree of the three categories of upper, bottoms, and accessories of modern Han folk costumes in the Jiangnan area is visually displayed based on color parsing.(2)Construction of a comprehensive evaluation model of color aestheticsBased on the basic theory of color and the study of color harmony and beauty, three formulas, namely Aesthetic Measure of Colour Harmony,Aesthetic Measurement, and Color Warmth, are established and linked to construct a comprehensive evaluation model of color aesthetics for the objective evaluation of color matching schemes. To reconcile individual aesthetic differences in color matching, analyze the user’s choice of color matching scheme, adjust the formula coefficient of the evaluation model, and gradually approach personalized and differentiated color matching needs.(3)Automatic colorization design of pattern line draft integrating user requirementsTo visually display the color matching style of modern Han folk costumes in the Jiangnan area, its color characteristics are applied to the design of pattern patterns. Before the automatic coloring of the pattern,it is necessary to identify and classify the area of the pattern line.In the automatic color matching stage,a genetic algorithm is used for automatic color matching design, which reduces the workload of users to select color matching schemes and can quickly output the optimal sequence color matching scheme for users to select.Additionally,in order to make the system output approach the user’s preferred selection, interactive color matching design is used to record the user’s selection behavior, and the color matching scheme is selected according to the user’s preference. The program automatically analyzes and gradually moves closer to the user’s preference selection, thus generating an orderly and multi-type recommended color matching scheme with relatively accurate demand.(4)Empirical analysis and software design and developmentWe conducted empirical analysis and software design and development. To be specific,we selected a total of 308 images from three categories: upper, bottom, and accessories, and 20 different line draft patterns for automatic coloring. We found that the main colors of modern Han folk costumes in the Jiangnan area were blue and black, and accounted for 43.03 %,76.89 %,and 45.62 % of the upper, bottom, and accessory categories, respectively. We also examined color composition and found that it was similar across the three categories. When we set the co-occurrence rate threshold to(?)=3.0,we observed that the upper had the most matching color co-occurrence relationships, followed by accessories, and bottoms had the least among the three. In the aspect of automatic interactive color assignment,we chose different parameters for automatic color assignment analysis. The results showed that different source images for color assignment produced a different overall image style of the pattern.Furthermore,we found that selecting the same source color characteristics of different patterns resulted in different overall image styles due to the differences in pattern characteristics. The overall time consumption of the experiment depended on the number of series samples and image size.In the experiment, the average time consumption for color extraction of a single image was 0.2 seconds, and the output time of the color network diagram was 1.8 seconds. For the automatic color matching multi-scheme,the output time was 7.2 seconds, while the output time of the single color matching scheme was 0.4 seconds.Overall, this research enriches the color system of modern Han folk costumes, provides an explanation for the way of color regeneration of national costumes, and offers new ideas for contemporary fashion innovation design.
