The coordinated and synchronized development of eco-environment and new urbanization is one of the connotation of high-quality development,a necessary condition for sustainable development of human society,and a necessary path to achieve the construction of a socialist modernized country.Guizhou Province is located in a karst ecological fragile area,and its economic development is relatively backward.The weakness of ecological environment and economic foundation makes Guizhou Province face the lag and instability of coordinated and synchronized development of eco-environment and new urbanization,which hinders its high-quality development.This paper takes Guizhou province as the study area to study the coupling coordinated relationship between its eco-environment and new urbanization to contribute to the sustainable and high-quality development of the study area.The paper analyzed the spatial and temporal variation of eco-environmental quality in Guizhou Province based on MODIS remote sensing image data and the GEE platform using principal component analysis.Analyzed the spatial and temporal variation of new urbanization level in the study area based on statistical panel data of population,society,economy,ecology and urban-rural integration using AHP-entropy method.The spatio-temporal variation of the coupled coordination relationship between eco-environment and new urbanization was analyzed by using the coupled coordination index model and the relative development index model,and targeted suggestions for improving the coordination relationship were proposed.The main findings of the study are as follows:(1)The eco-environment quality in Guizhou Province is not poor and there is a large room for improvement,showing a slow improvement trend of accelerating development speed.The quality is distributed in a spatial pattern of high in the east and low in the west.The main reasons for the improvement of the eco-environment in Guizhou are the increase in NDVI and the decrease in NDBSI.The eco-environmental quality of Guizhou province and all cities have reached the medium level and above in 2020,but none of the RSEI exceed 0.7except for Qiandongnan.The improvement of eco-environment quality in Guizhou Province from 2010 to 2020 is mainly attributed to areas with poor ecological background quality.Anshun,Bijie,Qianxinan,and Liupanshui have significantly improved their eco-environment quality,while there are some deterioration phenomena in the southeast of Zunyi.The best eco-environment quality in Guizhou in 2020 was in Qiandongnan,located in the eastern part of Guizhou,while Anshun,Bijie,and Liupanshui,located in the western part of Guizhou,were relatively poor.2010-2020,the NDVI of Guizhou Province is increasing,the NDBSI is decreasing,the WET is decreasing and the LST is relatively stable.(2)The level of new urbanization in Guizhou is not low,and there is more room to rise,with a high upward trend but the speed is gradually slowing down.The level of regional synchronous development is high and there is no obvious spatial differentiation,but the development rate in the central and western regions is relatively fast.The lagging development of population and social urbanization is the weakness of the development of new urbanization.In 2020,all cities except Zunyi and Anshun have reached a higher level of new urbanization,but NURB does not exceed 0.7 except for Liupanshui.From 2010 to 2020,the development rate of new urbanization in the whole region of Guizhou is fast but gradually slowing down,and the development rates of Bijie,Anshun,Qianxinan and Guiyang cities in the central and western regions are higher than other cities.The level of all subsystems of new urbanization at the provincial level in Guizhou from 2010 to 2020 shows an upward trend but the rate of increase slows down,with population and social urbanization lagging behind relatively.Anshun,Bijie,Tongren,Qianyinan and Qiandongnan are relatively lagging behind in the development of demographic and economic urbanization,while the rest of cities and states are consistent with the provincial situation.(3)The coupling coordination relationship between eco-environment and new urbanization in Guizhou province gradually improves from 2010 to 2020,and there is a tendency to develop in the direction of ecological environment lagging.The coupling coordination level shows a distribution of high in the east and low in the west.From 2010 to2020,the coupling coordination relationship between eco-environment and new urbanization in Guizhou shows a change process of primary coordinated development with new urbanization lagging to intermediate coordinated development with new urbanization lagging to good coordinated development with eco-environment and new urbanization synchronized.The coupled coordination index is mostly at the bottom line of about 0.8 for a good coordinated development level.The relative development index has a tendency to move beyond the synchronous type to the eco-environment lagging type.In 2020,Bijie,Anshun,Qianxinan,Zunyi and Guiyang have a lower level of coordinated development than other cities.
