With the rapid development of the civil aviation industry,the current airspace capacity is difficult to match the increasing demand for air transportation.As the starting and ending point of flight operations,the congestion in the terminal area is increased due to the increasing number of flights and the operation efficiency of flights is seriously affected.Therefore,it is a current practical need to study the operation efficiency of flights in the airport terminal area.Based on the actual flight operation data,an in-depth study on the flight arrival efficiency in the terminal area of Tianjin Binhai International Airport is conducted in this paper.Firstly,the flight arrival process,the influencing factors of flight arrival and the data processing method are introduced.On this basis,aiming at the problems of existing efficiency indicators,a comprehensive evaluation index of arrival efficiency combining horizontal dimension and vertical dimension is proposed to comprehensively evaluate the flight arrival efficiency in the terminal area of Tianjin Binhai Airport.The evaluation results show that the arrival efficiency in the terminal area of Tianjin Binhai Airport is overall low,and the flight arrival efficiency from different arrival directions is different.A large number of flights have obvious flat flight section in the descent process,and the larger vertical deviation and longer extra flight time are caused.Secondly,from the perspective of traffic flow management and control,a flight arrival time prediction model based on queuing theory is proposed.By capturing the overall flow characteristics of the arrival traffic flow,the flight arrival time of Tianjin Binhai Airport can be quickly predicted,so as to find the flights with low arrival efficiency as soon as possible.The research results show that the arrival discipline of flights in the terminal area obeys the Poisson distribution,and the service time obeys the Gamma distribution.The flight arrival time can be better predicted by the general service time M/G/1 queuing model established in this paper.The average absolute error of the flight arrival time prediction in the terminal area with 15 minutes as the unit is about 1 minute,and the more direct guidance and suggestions for improving the control work can be brought by the forecast results.Finally,the classical M/G/C queuing model is proposed to analyze the arrival control and optimization strategy of flights in the terminal area,so as to alleviate the congestion problem in the terminal area.The research results show that the flight arrival queue time can be reduced to a certain extent by controlling the flight arrival rate and adjusting the flight time of flights in the terminal area.However,compared with adjusting the flight time of flights,controlling the arrival rate can reduce the flight arrival queuing time to a greater extent.The research results of this paper provide an effective reference for the arrival optimization of flights in the terminal area,and can be used as a feasible scheme to improve the operation efficiency of flights in the terminal area.
