Typology Of Urban Intersection Spatial Morphology From The Perspective Of Spatiotemporal Data

Urban intersections not only meet the needs of urban road traffic,but also provide social gathering places.Urban intersection is an important "node" in urban space,which brings people a strong impression and perception of urban space scale,architectural rhythm and environmental color;Urban intersection is an important part of urban "identity" elements,and its spatial characteristics play a guiding and directional role,which can be used as the basis to identify the direction in the city.The development mode along the street of urban intersection in China is different from the block type development of western cities,which shows the unique characteristics of urban spatial form.Based on the perspective of spatio-temporal data,this paper takes the spatial form of urban intersections in Wuhan as an example,and uses typological methods to establish the index research model of street mode,land use and architectural form.Through diachronic and synchronic analysis,this paper discusses and interprets the type characteristics,evolution process and mechanism of urban intersection spatial form.First of all,this paper expounds the background of the research on the types of urban intersection space form,combs the research progress of urban intersection space form at home and abroad,and explains the purpose and significance of this paper;Choose the research object and define its attributes,construct the research design,method and framework of this paper.Secondly,through the analysis and definition of urban morphology related concepts,the theoretical research of urban morphology and the theoretical research of "taxonomy" research methods,the two basic theories based on typology research methods--the urban plane analysis method of Conzern,architectural typology,and the classification of urban spatial morphology characteristics in "taxonomy" research methods,are sorted out.Then,the diachronic scale of time scale and the synchronic scale of space scale are established;In order to achieve the purpose of combining quantitative and qualitative analysis of urban intersection spatial form type characteristics,the index analysis model of urban spatial form elements,such as street pattern,land use and architectural form,is constructed.Finally,based on the spatio-temporal data of Wuhan City,this paper studies the evolution process and mechanism of urban intersection spatial form types from the time dimension of diachronic analysis,according to the four types of "Contained","Extension","Greenfield" and "Infill";From the spatial dimension of synchronic analysis,according to the five types of "Plan Type",namely Orthogonal Grid,Radial Grid,Clashing Grid,Distorted Grid and Grid with diagonals,this paper interprets the spatial shape characteristics of urban intersections.According to the characteristics of urban intersection spatial morphology and the evolution process and mechanism over the years,the classification of urban intersection types is expanded by three classification methods: "land use structure"(business oriented,business driven,business affiliated),"urban morphology grade"(central node type,important node type,general node type),It makes the research of urban intersection spatial morphology typology clearer,more comprehensive and more systematic.This paper takes Wuhan urban intersection as the research object,draws CAD and GIS geospatial data of urban intersection with the help of the construction data of Wuhan from 1964 to 2020 and the historical image of Google map.Using ArcGIS geographic analysis method and typology method,this paper studies the characteristics of street pattern,land use and architecture of urban intersection spatial form.This paper explains the evolution process and mechanism of the four evolution modes of urban intersection space form,including "Contained","Extension","Greenfield" and "Infill",and summarizes the overall evolution trend of the four evolution modes;This paper analyzes the spatial form characteristics of five urban intersection plane types: Orthogonal Grid,Radial Grid,Clashing Grid,Distorted Grid and Grid with diagonals and puts forward the urban design strategy of urban intersection space form;The classification methods of "land use structure" and "urban form grade" are developed.Finally,the paper puts forward the inheritance and differential evolution of urban intersection spatial layout,the functional land succession and intensive development of urban intersection,the spatial differentiation effect of urban intersection morphological characteristics,and the practical guidance strategy of urban intersection spatial design,Enrich the research of urban intersection spatial morphology typology.It is expected that this paper can provide guidance suggestions for the future urban intersection space design in China,and enrich the research in the field of urban intersection space morphology typology.
