With the rapid development of national economy, accelerating urbanization, vehicle ownership in China's cities continue on the rise, and resulting in traffic problem becomes an important issue in urban development; with the expansion of urban area and people travelling more, people are constantly put forward new demands on the functions of urban traffic. Using GIS technology develop urban transportation releasing system has important practical significance for easing urban congestion and meeting people and other road travel demand analysis. In this thesis, Chengdu urban transportation releasing system was developed, which based on the. NET environment and the GIS platform of ArcGIS Server. The main content and results are as follows:1. The traffic geographic information system development in the world was discussed. For the needs of promoting the public-oriented use and more inquiry analysis, the several implementations of web GIS was compared and analysed, and ArcGIS Server-based unban taffic GIS was chose.2. Through analyzing the ArcGIS transportation network data model and the distribution weight of road, turn feature class was added to network dataset. The time field in turn feature was set to the waiting time of the intersection. Meanwhile, considering the temporal nature of urban traffic, the period was used to solve temporal problems in the optimal path analysis. Based on the demand analysis, the database and the architecture of Chengdu urban transportation releasing system was designed and its function was realized. The system is based on Web GIS of Server. The client's viewer works in Html mode. Users can access it via the Internet anytime and anywhere. The system, which is useful explore of the traffic GIS'practical application, establishes a simple urban traffic web GIS and provides an effective reference for developing other traffic system.
