Research On The Application Of City Memory In Guangzhou Subway Public Art Design

Because of its fast and convenient advantages,the subway in modern cities has become the first choice of public transport for people to travel.As a special public space in the city,the subway space provides a platform medium to show the urban culture and characteristics.Urban memory is the symbol of urban identity.In the context of the current convergence of urban space,protecting and inheriting urban memory is an indispensable part of the process of modern urban construction.As a famous historical and cultural city in China,Guangzhou has a long history and is full of talents.It contains rich urban memory content for mining and extraction.The subway public art design creates a unique artistic atmosphere in the subway space,which can not only meet the public’s demand for higher-level spiritual needs and comfort in the public space,but also play an important role in the continuation and inheritance of urban memory.This paper carries out relevant theoretical research from the two subjects of urban memory and metro public art.From the perspective of urban memory,this paper discusses the expressive value of Metro Public Art and the cultural connotation of urban memory,so as to provide ideas and methods for the application of urban memory in metro public art design.Based on the theoretical research on urban memory in the field of psychology and sociology,combined with the analysis of the cases of metro public art at home and abroad,this paper summarizes the memory elements and forms of urban memory in metro public art.By investigating and analyzing the current situation of Guangzhou Metro public art,and taking the relevant research theories in the early stage as the design support,this paper puts forward the design principles and design strategies that urban memory can be constructed in the current Guangzhou Metro public art.Finally,taking Chen Clan Academy Station as an example,the paper deeply excavates the spatial memory,symbolic memory and practical memory elements within the station area,extracts the artistic elements and applies them to the practice of subway public art design,in order to provide reference significance for the public art design of Chen Clan Academy Station and other subway stations in Guangzhou.
