Research On The Facade Composition And Style Characteristics Of Arcades In Modern Towns In Southern Fujian Under Typology

As one of the important representatives of modern architecture in Southern Fujian,the arcade building was formed in the period of the Republic of China.Among them,there are a large number of arcades in villages and towns.As an important symbol of the modernization of towns,it is of great significance for in-depth analysis of arcade buildings and regional culture.Using typological theories and methods,this article takes the arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian as the research object and selects 13 arcade streets in villages and towns in Southern Fujian,with a total of 646 arcades for on-the-spot investigation to get first-hand information with surveying and mapping.On the basis of constructing the facade database of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian,from the three classification system of "Arcade Background-Arcade Blocks-Arcade Monomer",the composition and style features of arcade facades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian are identified and extracted,and their buildings are summarized through type restoration.Therefore,the research framework of the facade composition and style characteristics of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian is constructed,and the type conversion and reorganization are used in the protection and renewal design practice of arcade facades.This article has eight chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.The second chapter introduces the relevant theories and methods of typology,sorts out the development context and main content of typology,summarizes the research methods of typology,and put forward a typology-based research idea for the facade of arcades in villages and towns:"Arcade Background-Arcade Blocks-Arcade Monomer" classification hierarchy and the theoretical method of "Identification Extraction-Type Restoration-Type Reorganization".The third chapter conducts a macro-level study on the background of the formation of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian,including the natural geographical environment,the development of modern towns and arcades in southern Fujian,the historical evolution and spatial distribution of arcades,the spatial structure relationship between towns and arcades in southern Fujian.The cultural characteristics and connotations provide a guiding basis for the identification of the facade types of southern Fujian arcades.Chapters 4 to 5 are the core content of the thesis,the types are identified from the block level and the single level respectively.The 4th chapter divides the arcades into Coastal-type and mountain-type arcade blocks according to the comprehensive factors such as geographical location,cultural connotation,building materials and style.According to the spatial form and texture,the facade scale and rhythm,the facade material and color,Arcade style and other facade elements,Chapters 4th interprets the fa(?)ade type characteristics at the main street level of the block in layers.Chapter 5th interprets the type characteristics of the arcade monomer from the aspects of space type,facade proportion,and facade elements,and summarizes three types of arcades:traditional,transitional,and modern.The 6th chapter is the research on the features of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian.By linking the types of arcade blocks with the individual types of arcades,three types of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian are summarized:the traditional mountain style,the Coastal transitional style,and Coastal modern style.From this,a pedigree of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian is constructed.The 7th chapter is the case practice.On the basis of summarizing and refining the facade features of the arcade in villages and towns in Southern Fujian,taking the Shuitou arcade street in Nan’an City as a case practice,based on the current situation of its facade,the protection and renewal strategy of the arcade are proposed according to the typology method.The 8th chapter is the conclusion and prospect.The 8h chapter is the conclusion and outlook.This article takes typology as the research method and path,and systematically constructs the research method of "typology" of arcade facades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian with "Identification Extraction-Type Restoration-Type Reorganization".From the three levels of background,block and single unit,the composition and characteristics of arcade facades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian are explored,and three types of style and features of the arcades in Southern Fujian are obtained:the traditional mountain style,the Coastal transitional style,and Coastal modern style to summarize the construction essence and type ontology of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian as a typical regional building.From this,a pedigree of arcades in villages and towns in Southern Fujian is constructed.Using the theory and method of typology,combined with the actual project,this article proposes a practical and universal design strategy for the renovation of the facade of the arcade block in villages and towns in Southern Fujian.
