With the rise of green energy,the expansion of wind farms has become an inevitable trend.The researches show that wind farm clutter has caused the airborne radar to produce a large number of false targets,leading to problems such as decreased detection probability,increased false alarm rate and target track divergence.Due to the movement of the airborne platform,the influence of wind farm clutter for airborne radar is more complex and it is difficult to mitigate the above effects.Research on the wind farm clutter mitigation technology for airborne radar is vital for the performance improvement of the airborne radar.Firstly,according to the superposition theory of scattering point and the echoes model for airborne array radar,the wind turbine echoes model for airborne array radar is established.On the basis of the above model,the characteristics of the wind turbine clutter are analyzed in the time-frequency domain and space-time domain,which can provide data sourses for the suppression of wind farm clutter for airborne radar.Secondly,the special problems of the wind farm clutter mitigation for airborne radar,such as the less prior information,the limited samples and the more complicate spectrum of the echoes are considered.Then according to the different variance of micro-motion feature with time between the wind turbine clutter and the target,the clutter is suppressed based on low-rank matrix optimization(LRMO)algorithm.On the condition that the wind turbine clutter and the target are in the same distance unit,the limitation of LRMO algorithm is considered and the clutter can be mitigated based on morphological component analysis(MCA)algorithm according to the different sparse characteristics of the target and the wind turbine clutter.Aiming at the spectrum shifting and broadening problems of the ground clutter for airborne radar,the adaptive moving target indication(AMTI)algorithm is applied to suppress the ground clutter effectively.The experimental results verify the effectiveness of the method.Finally,the wind turbine clutter suppression for airborne array radar is studied.Aiming at the problem that a large training samples are needed for traditional space time adaptive processing(STAP),the expansion factor approach(EFA)algorithm can be applied to suppress wind farm clutter according to the different feature in the space-time domain between the wind turbine clutter and the target.In the EFA algorithm,the dimensionality reduction matrix is adopted,and then the reduced dimensionality data can be used in the space-time adaptive processing to form a response with a certain width in both angle domain and Doppler domain.The experimental results show that the EFA algorithm can effectively suppress wind farm clutter under the condition of the less training samples.
