| For ships sailing in polar regions, ice phenomenon caused by harsh environment on ship surface leads to the increase of ship’s overall mass, deviation of ship’s overall center of gravity, failure of various equipment systems, etc.,which are important problems affecting ship safety.Ice adhesion strength is the viscous representation of ice adhering to material surface. The increase of ice mass and thickness can predict the degree of ice accumulation on the hull surface in a short time.Electric heating deicing method is recognized as an effective deicing method in the world at present,so the research on the law of ship surface icing and deicing effect has important guidance and engineering practice significance, and it is of great significance to improve the performance of electric heating deicing. In this paper,a visual anti-freezing and deicing experiment platform for polar ships was built first. The experiment platform can observe the ice growth and ablation process, and conduct ice covering and deicing experiments at the same time.Secondly, experimental methods were used to study the variation rule of ice adhesion strength under the influence of external factors in atomized wind tunnel. The self-made ice adhesion strength tester was used to test the ice adhesion strength under different ambient temperatures, different freezing time and different icing contact areas.Secondly, the change of ice quality and thickness under different influencing factors in a short time was studied.Experiments on ice quality and thickness were carried out based on tilting degree of test piece, ambient temperature and ambient wind speed.Ice quality was measured by pressure sensor, and ice thickness was determined by images. Finally, the deicing effect of electric heating is studied under the influence of its own system and environment. The experimental study on the deicing effect of environmental temperature, environmental wind speed and heating load voltage is carried out on the specimen,so as to make feasibility analysis on the actual icing law and deicing effect. The results show that the tangential dynamic icing adhesion strength has a critical region in the process of decreasing ambient temperature. The tangential dynamic icing adhesion strength increases gradually with the increase of freezing time, and the positive relationship decreases gradually with the increase of icing contact area. The total ice mass and thickness gradually increase with the decrease of ambient temperature and the increase of wind speed, while the total ice mass and thickness gradually decrease with the increase of specimen and horizontal Angle. The deicing effect is in the same direction with the change of ambient temperature. When the environment remains unchanged, the heating power also decreases, but the deicing effect can still be achieved and energy can be saved. The deicing effect has a linear inverse relationship with the wind speed. The study of surface icing and thermal deicing in polar environment has important guidance and engineering significance for polar sailing ships to avoid icing. |
