With the proliferation and diversification of electronic devices,the demand for them has been increasing.The application of battery management chips has been primarily utilized in domains such as portable mobile devices and electric vehicles.As a result,test of battery management chips have become an indispensable component.In this paper,a testing system was developed for HSM12X0 battery management chips.The system comprised a hardware testing circuit board and a software testing program.According to the functions and testing requirements,a universal testing motherboard was designed to accommodate three chips.Dedicated testing circuit boards were designed for each chip,connected and debugged with the universal motherboard to complete the design and verification of the hardware testing circuit boards.The testing system supplies power to the chips,collects data such as voltage,current and temperature,then transmits it to the software testing program for processing.The communication between the test and the software test program was using the STM32 microcontroller.The communication program is adapted to the HSM12X0 chips,addressing the nonuniversality issue caused by factors such as the test chip’s working mode,data transmission method,address configuration and error handling.A Lab VIEW-based program for chip debugging and monitoring was developed,employing a design pattern with subprograms invoked by the main program to reduce testing time.The chip testing system is constructed and jointly debugged.After verification,it was confirmed that the chip testing system could monitor and store relevant test parameters within an acceptable range of testing error value.The testing system effectively facilitates the debugging and functional testing of the HSM12X0 chips.
