A Study On New Product Development Project Management Improvement For DM Company

Project management is a kind of mature modern management method and tool that has been applied in various industries.In recent years,the restructuring of China’s auto industry has accelerated,and gradually changed from high-speed growth to a new stage of highquality development.As an upstream supplier of automotive enterprises,auto parts companies must be skilled in using project management to make competitive products,in order to meet the increasingly stringent technical,quality,cost and development lead-time requirements of automotive customers.DM is an auto parts company engaged in the R&D,manufacturing and sales of thermal management systems for automobiles.In order to cope with the fierce market competition,it needs to continuously accelerate new product development.As the basis of new product development,the level of project management determines whether DM Company can quickly respond to different customers’ respective unique project management mode requirements,increasingly lower cost requirements,increasingly higher quality requirements,increasingly shorter development lead-time requirements,etc.Based on project management theories and methods,thesis analyzed the current cost,quality,schedule and risk problems of DM’s project management,and analyzed the reasons for the problems.It also proposed improvement measures such as improving cost budget and control methods,optimizing project development organization,quality gate optimization and schedule warning,establishing technical quality community,risk identification and risk control optimization.And described guarantee measures from management,information platform and incentive mechanism.After the implementation of above measures,the results are obvious: the cost budget is accurate and the control target is achieved;the quality level is improved and the critical quality requirements are achieved;the project organization is flexible and efficient;the project schedule is controllable;the risk identification is refined and the risk control is accurate and powerful.
