| With the advent of the post-canal heritage declaration era, finding an appropriate way to achieve the identification of the Grand Canal heritage, the integrity of value mining and the sustainable development method has become a major issue in the cultural continuity and protection of the Grand Canal through these years.Among these problems, the protection and revitalization of abandoned canal water conservancy heritage has been a long-term difficulty in the study of canal heritage in China. With the rapid development of urbanization, such heritage has lost its own historical function, which shows the situation of isolated and homogenized. In view of this problem, the theory of cultural landscape security pattern provides new perspective for the protection and development of abandoned canal heritage in China.Nanwang water conservancy heritage is the place with the densest canal water conservancy facilities and the more prominent cultural landscape value. However, due to the expansion of arable land in villages within recent decades, the protection of existing heritage is under a huge threat, and thus the research on this issue has become more and more representative.Based on the theory of cultural landscape security pattern and the characteristic of landscape Grand Canal culture in China, the present study proposed a method for constructing a cultural landscape security pattern including the historical and landscape refining, investigation on heritage status, comprehensive assessment on the heritage, extraction and optimization of cultural landscape security network, and then such method was applied on the research of Nanwang water conservancy heritage landscape protection. With the objective on the protection of regional historical landscape features, this study firstly sorted out the construction and management of the Nanwang water conservancy heritage by its indigenous people, and summarized the four major cultural landscape elements as well as historical landscape pattern.Secondly, through the investigation and analysis on the current status of regional heritage,17 cultural landscape homogenous areas were identified, and such areas were used as the basic unit on comprehensive assessment of cultural landscape sources.Subsequently, with the target on identifying the cultural landscape source, this study referred to other evaluation methods on the water conservancy heritage and cultural landscape, and constructed a comprehensive assessment system on heritage value, current preservation situation, development potential to achieve an effective recognition on the origin of cultural landscape.Lastly,by integrating the regional historical landscape elements and the existing cultural landscape, referring to the minimum cumulative model(MCR)from the theory of cultural landscape security pattern, identifying the regional landscape security network and potential corridors,re-establishing the connectivity of cultural landscape and improving regional recreation value. The present study poses multi-disciplinary research methods including Analytic Hierarchy Process,Arc GIS methods, etc.to get a higher accuracy on the assessment results, and achieve the transformation from the protection of single heritage sites to the construction of cultural landscape safety networks.Based on the framework of the cultural landscape security pattern, this study discussed the construction and spatial optimization methods for the network security pattern of canal heritage, which further enriches the academic achievements in the field of cultural landscape planning and has guiding significance for the revitalization of other canals in China. |
