| With the development of society and the aging process,the focus of the design of the spatial environment of elderly care buildings has gradually shifted from focusing on functionality to focusing on the physical and mental health of the elderly.This thesis aims to explore how to use biophilic design theory to improve the health benefits of the elderly who use elderly care buildings.Through environmental surveys and questionnaires,the current problems of elderly care buildings and the environmental element perception preferences of the user groups were clarified.Then,from the perspective of biophilic design,the thesis explores the design strategies of the spatial environment of elderly care buildings to enhance their health promotion functions.This thesis will be discussed in three parts:the first part is theoretical research.It elaborates on the concept,dimensions,and application modes of biophilic design;summarizes the physiological and psychological characteristics of the elderly;analyzes the health promotion mechanisms of biophilic design from four aspects: physiological functions,cognitive processes,psychological emotions,and social support;and analyzes excellent cases of elderly care building design at home and abroad,summarizing five biophilic design points,including building form,spatial form,plant configuration,material color,and sensory experience.The second part is empirical research and analysis.Eight typical elderly care buildings in Jinan City and the elderly population were investigated on-site.Data on the current status of the spatial environment of elderly care buildings were collected through photography and measurement,and the current problems of elderly care buildings were summarized.The elderly population in the elderly care buildings were surveyed through interviews,and combined with the characteristics and needs of the elderly,a biophilic design application model suitable for the spatial environment of elderly care buildings was proposed.The third part is the proposal and application of strategies.Firstly,based on the current problems of elderly care buildings and the preferences of the elderly population discovered through literature research and empirical surveys,four design principles of safety and comfort,vitality recovery,rich experience,and emotional belonging were deduced from the perspective of biophilic design.Secondly,specific application strategies of biophilic design mode were proposed,including creating ecological vitality of the building,warm and comfortable indoor environment,and safe and interactive outdoor environment,and design points were formulated for each strategy.Finally,taking a senior apartment in the central district of Jinan City as an example,biophilic design strategies were applied from the aspects of building form,indoor environment,and outdoor environment design,and specific design references were provided.This thesis mainly uses on-site research and questionnaire surveys to obtain information on the current situation,discovers essential problems through data statistics and qualitative analysis,and proposes a solution to the design of the spatial environment of elderly care buildings from the perspective of biophilic theory.It is hoped that this research can provide new ideas for the design and renovation of elderly care buildings. |
