Nursing Institution Based On Biophile Design Theory Research On Rehabilitation Landscape Design Strategy

With the aggravation of the aging problem of our society,the demand for social endowment service is also increasingly strong.As the core infrastructure of socialized old-age care institutions,in recent years,the improvement of their living environment cannot keep up with the growth of people’s needs,especially in the aspect of outdoor landscape construction with rehabilitation function.Based on this background,this paper aims to improve the living experience and quality of life of middle-aged and elderly people in pension institutions.Based on the theory of biophile design,through case analysis and questionnaire survey,it summarizes the principle methods and design strategies of rehabilitation landscape design in pension institutions.Combined with the practice of "Planning and design of Lvkanglizhou Home rehabilitation Courtyard in Yongkang City",the research results were verified.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The essence of the application of biophile design theory in rehabilitation landscape design is to use rehabilitation landscape design elements to create rehabilitation landscape space that can stimulate the biophile nature of the elderly,so as to achieve the purpose of having a positive impact on the physical and mental health of the elderly.2.The case analysis shows that at present,the rehabilitation landscape of excellent institutions for the aged at home and abroad has the common characteristics of paying attention to functional landscape space design,being good at using natural elements to create space,and the barrier-free facilities of rehabilitation landscape are in line with the behavior habits of the elderly.The main landscape space functions and main design elements of the endowment institution are preliminarily summarized.3.In the first part of the questionnaire,Excel data processing shows that most of the elderly who live in the nursing home institutions for a long time like the natural elements in the rehabilitation landscape,the quiet and peaceful landscape space atmosphere and the functional landscape space.In the second part of the questionnaire,the data collected by five-point Likert scale were analyzed and processed by SPSS23.0.The results showed that the elderly people attached more importance to the application of "shelter and lookout" and "exploration and attraction" in the rehabilitation landscape design.4.Summarize three biophile design modes,seven biophile design principles of rehabilitation landscape for pension institutions:(1)Environmental safety: to ensure the safety of the elderly in the outdoor landscape space,(2)cognitive ease: design elements to meet the basic cognition of the elderly,(3)interactive diversity: to enrich the interaction between the natural elements of the landscape space and the elderly,(4)emotional support:(5)Space inclusiveness: landscape space has both private shelter and transparent sight;(6)behavior challenge: give the elderly controllable challenging outdoor activities;(7)scene exploration: create landscape scenes that stimulate the elderly’s desire to explore,as well as the corresponding design strategies of seven design principles5.Specific achievements of the design practice of the rehabilitation courtyard of Lvkanglizhou Home in Yongkang City include: six types of rehabilitation landscape Spaces based on the theory of biophile design have been planned and designed,including meditation space,gardening space,recreation space,communication space,viewing space and display space.
