| President Xi Jinping announced at the meeting of Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Dakar in November 2021 that China’s cooperation with Africa has been upgraded from "eight major actions" to "nine major projects",and China-Africa economic and trade cooperation has gradually stepped into a higher quality development stage. As the first major export product in China, the growth rate of export trade to Africa has not been greatly enhanced due to the restriction of trade facilitation level in African countries.According to the enterprise heterogeneity trade model, the export growth of a country is mainly realized along the trade margin of quantity, the trade margin of price and the trade margin of expansion, and the fixed trade cost represented by trade facilitation has been considered as the biggest influencing factor affecting the export triad margin, therefore,it is important to clarify the level of trade facilitation in African countries and explore the level of trade facilitation in African countries to influence the export of electromechanical products The specific marginal path of trade volume can help us reverse the analysis of the reasons that restrict the export of electromechanical products to Africa, which contains a wealth of policy implications. The article constructs a set of trade facilitation indicators system that can reflect the characteristics of African countries based on their basic national conditions and the characteristics of the trade situation of electromechanical products, measures the trade facilitation level of the top 24 countries in the trade volume of Chinese electromechanical products exported to Africa from 2011 to 2019 using principal component analysis, and relies on the CEPII-BACI database to decompose the trade facilitation level of Chinese electromechanical products exported to Africa from 2011 to 2019 into extended margin, quantity margin and price margin.Based on the extended trade gravity model, the impact of trade facilitation level and each level of indicators of African countries on the trade volume and export triad margin of electromechanical products exported to Africa is explored empirically to explore the main constraints of Chinese electromechanical products exported to Africa. The study shows that the overall level of trade facilitation in the top 24 countries in terms of trade volume of electromechanical products exported to Africa is low,the level of expansion margin of electromechanical products exported to Africa is basically close to 1,the level of price margin is high, the level of trade facilitation in Africa can promote the increase of trade volume and quantity margin of Chinese electromechanical products, but will cause the decrease of expansion margin, and the increase of different levels of trade facilitation indicators will bring trivial margins bring different effects. |
