New product development is a critical design phase to quickly respond to consumers’ individual and diverse needs,seeking to meet their expectations as much as possible.The complexity of product design,however,will result in a product that encounters multiple dimensions of consumer expectations such as cost effectiveness,quality,performance and styling,and the accurate evaluation of these options is an important part of concept design evaluation.At the core of the concept design decision process is a multi-objective user-centered trade-off problem that requires rapid identification of consumer demand preferences.With the widespread adoption of social media platforms,e-commerce technologies,wearable technologies and smart transportation,the importance of big data is widely recognized in the information economy and modern lifestyles,and the available data is growing exponentially.User open review data contains consumers’ perceptions during the shopping process,and voluntarily generated consumer review data provides a more reliable,accessible,and richer source of information for understanding customer needs and consumer preferences than information obtained from other sources,yielding great value in reducing information asymmetry on the Internet.In traditional product design methods,firms and corporate designers collect the preferences of consumers through offline polls or virtual trials,for instance,by means of paper-and-pencil surveys and joint analyses,which consume a lot of time and money,and also produce biases in design perceptions due to individual differences between designers and consumers,experiences of different identities,and social backgrounds,etc.The final product evaluation mainly relies on decision makers’ a priori knowledge,which is subjective and ambiguous.Solutions based on large data parses as well as smart calculus are gradually used to alleviate the complication and perceptual loads of coping with large amounts of data.Mining and analyzing product-related data can provide decision support for quality assurance of conceptual designs.Leaders’ approaches to decision making are also changing,relying nowadays primarily on big data analytics rather than experience to create more manufacturing value.Big data-driven technologies offer a broad perspective for manufacturing,laying the foundation for a sustainable manufacturing future and driving manufacturing companies to continue to evolve toward intelligence.Based on domestic and international research on product concept design,this article uses the analysis technique of "big data" to focus on the perception disparity between designers and users.From the user’s perspective,based on user preferences and product hierarchy,the key criteria for product concept design evaluation are determined,and the comprehensive evaluation method for multi-level and multi-expression concept design solutions in the fuzzy language environment is studied:(1)To provide an efficient,rational,and practical decision-making method for group multi-criteria decision making in the user comment data environment.Based on big data technology,we can capture users’ preferences and usage habits in real time and accurately,thus promoting product concept design evaluation.We analyze and summarize the complexity of comprehensive product concept design evaluation,study the hierarchical structure of product concept design oriented to user preferences,the matching model of product concept design and user needs,and use Python to capture users’ open-ended review text information in e-commerce platforms and extract feature words through cluster analysis to obtain product concept design evaluation criteria based on users’ open-ended review data.(2)Based on Pythagorean fuzzy set(PF),hierarchical analysis(AHP),and approximate ideal solution ranking(TOPSIS),a comprehensive evaluation model for product concept design scheme under an uncertainty-oriented environment is constructed,and the main contents of the model are elaborated,including the calculation of product concept design evaluation criteria weights based on PFAHP,product concept design based on PFTOPSIS(2)The evaluation of the product concept design scheme based on the PFAHP,the PFTOPSIS-based product concept design superiority selection.(3)Using the comprehensive evaluation model built in this paper,the comprehensive evaluation and ranking of UAV concept design solutions are carried out,and sensitivity analysis,comparative analysis,and computational complexity analysis are conducted.The results show that the product concept design evaluation method based on the user’s open review data constructed in this paper has certain reliability and superiority.(4)Using this evaluation method as a theoretical guide,a product concept design evaluation software program based on user open-ended review data is built to provide scientific and reliable data support for designers/decision makers when they are indecisive.
