| Insufficient physical activity for children can lead to a series of health problems, and in2017,Comrade Xi Jinping proposed to put people’s health as a strategic priority for development, especially to meet the physical activity needs of key groups such as children. As the main space for physical activity, community parks are an important spatial carrier to meet children’s health needs.Guided by social ecology theory, this study proposes a three-point research hypothesis and uses a community recreation activity observation system and a questionnaire to explore the correlation between children’s physical activity and community park activity spaces and the perceived built environment, and empirically demonstrates the rationality of the research hypothesis. The intensity and type of children’s physical activity at different activity venues in the four community parks were obtained using the systematic observation method, the number of children’s physical activity at different times and spaces was summarized and summarized, and the spatial distribution of different physical activity intensities was determined using the kernel density method;a one-to-one questionnaire survey was conducted on 425 children in the four community parks to investigate children’s demographic variables, total physical activity, and satisfaction with satisfaction with the perceived accessibility and safety of the parks.Based on the systematic observation method and statistical analysis of the questionnaires, the following results were obtained: 1.According to the chi-square test, differences were observed in the distribution of the number of children in the four community parks across activity sites(p<0.05).2.According to the negative binomial regression analysis,it was concluded that activity sites and children’s physical activity were statistically significant(p<0.05),and different activity sites could affect different physical The fitness equipment area, basketball court and soccer field suppressed children’s resting behavior(regression coefficient <0,P<0.05),the children’s activity area and square promoted children’s light physical activity(regression coefficient >0,P<0.05),the fitness equipment area and badminton court suppressed children’s light physical activity(regression coefficient <0,P<0.05),the basketball court, children’s play area and square The analysis of425 questionnaires in the four parks showed that children’s perceived accessibility and safety were positively correlated with children’s total physical activity(regression coefficient >0,P<0.05),indicating that environments with higher accessibility and safety promoted more physical activity. The regression coefficient was >0.A hierarchical multiple regression analysis of children’s perceived accessibility, safety, and demographic variables showed that children’s perceived accessibility, safety, and their interactions significantly predicted children’s total physical activity(P<0.05),and the gender of some park children affected their total physical activity(P<0.05);in summary,it can be concluded that community park activity space, perceived accessibility, and safety are correlated with children’s physical activity.By studying the correlation between children’s physical activity and the built environment in four community parks in Changsha,we expanded the field of children’s health, built a bridge between children’s health and the characteristics of the community park environment, and empirically demonstrated the basic theoretical research related to the influence of community parks on children’s physical activity. |
