Study On The Influence Of Material And Perception Characteristics Of Community Environment On Children’s Physical Activity Level

The decline in physical fitness and obesity of Chinese children and adolescents is becoming more and more serious.Inadequate physical activity and sedentary lifestyles of children may be important behavioral factors that cause health problems such as obesity.In recent years,many studies have shown that the community environment around children’s homes has a very important impact on children’s physical activity levels.A large number of documents have confirmed that the material characteristics of the community environment affect the perception characteristics of the community environment,and both the material characteristics of the community environment and the perception characteristics of the community environment also have an impact on children’s physical activities.However,it lacks the exploration of the common influence path of the material characteristics and perception characteristics of the community environment on the level of children’s physical activity.Based on this,this study puts forward five research hypotheses accordingly,and empirically demonstrates the rationality of the research hypotheses through the impact model.This study explored the impact of the physical characteristics and perception characteristics of the community environment on the level of children’s physical activity,which is of great significance for building a child-friendly community environment,promoting the improvement of children’s physical activity level,and the healthy development of children’s body and mind.This study takes children as the survey object,adopts Arc GIS kernel density analysis,questionnaire survey method,structural equation modeling method and mediation effect to construct a model of the relationship between the community environment and children’s physical activity level.The study first conducted a questionnaire survey on children aged 9-12 and their parents in the study area,and obtained the environmental perception elements of parents including 4 categories and 14 sub-categories,as well as the environmental perception elements of children including 4 categories and 6subcategories.According to the improved CLASS-C questionnaire,the children’s physical activity level was obtained.Second,use Arc GIS software to quantify the physical characteristics of the community environment in the research city.By establishing a 500-meter and 800-meter buffer zone with the residential area as the center,subjective perception and objective data are linked.Finally,further empirical research is carried out on this basis.Established multiple regression models,path analysis models,and mediating effect analysis models to explore the mediating effects of the two mediating variables of parental environmental perception and children’s environmental perception,and comprehensively explore the direct impact of community environmental material characteristics on children’s physical activities and indirect effects.The study found that parents’ environmental perception characteristics and children’s environmental perception characteristics have both mediating and common mediating effects in the influence of community environmental material characteristics on children’s physical activity levels.That is to say,the physical characteristics of the community environment have a direct impact on the level of children’s physical activity,and indirectly affect the level of children’s physical activity by affecting the parents’ environmental perception characteristics and the children’s environmental perception characteristics.At the same time,there are also differences in the impact of the physical characteristics and perception characteristics of the community environment on the level of children’s physical activity in different circles.In addition,the research results also explain the influence relationship between specific environmental factors.Based on the analysis results,this paper proposes a community environment optimization strategy to promote children’s physical activities from the two aspects of the community material environment and the community perception environment under the community life circle system.It aims to optimize the community environment,help build a child-friendly community,promote the level of children’s physical activity,and further promote the physical and mental health of children.
