| Under the background of increasingly serious overcapacity in some strategic emerging industries and gradual decline of government subsidies,it is very necessary to explore the current situation of our country’s new energy vehicle capacity utilization and its causes, which has reference and enlightenment significance. The thesis firstly reviews the literature on the concepts related to overcapacity, sorts out the connotation, classification and calculation methods of overcapacity, and provides a theoretical basis for further in-depth analysis later. The second part measures the overall overcapacity of the new energy automobile industry, and uses the entropy method to assign weights to build a comprehensive evaluation index system for overcapacity.Make preliminary judgment on the current overall overcapacity of our country’s new energy vehicle industry. The third part starts from the perspective of different industrial chains of new energy automobile enterprises in China, and divides the 59 listed companies into upper, middle and lower production links according to their main business.Measuring and analyzing the capacity utilization rate of the mid-stream and downstream industry chain, and choose the Cobb-Douglas production function method as the final result considering the theoretical advantages and disadvantages of the two methods and the actual situation. The fourth part first discusses the relevant empirical evidence of government policy behavior and excess capacity, and then subdivides the government policy support methods into direct government subsidies, indirect government subsidies and financial support levels, and quantitatively analyzes them and puts forward relevant empirical assumptions. Finally, the panel data correction standard error method is used to deeply explore the impact of different government policy support methods on the capacity utilization rate of the upstream, midstream and downstream industry chains of new energy vehicles. The main research conclusions include:(1)From the overall preliminary view of the new energy vehicle industry, the industry has excess capacity and the excess capacity is volatile.Among them, the excess capacity in 2017 was the most common, and there were excess capacity in three quarters of the year, followed by 2016;at the same time, compared with the other two models, the overcapacity of pure electric new energy vehicles that received the most government subsidies was the most serious.(2)From the perspective of the upstream, midstream and downstream industrial chains of new energy automobile companies, there are serious overcapacity situations in the upper, middle and downstream links of the new energy automobile industry, and there are obvious differences in the overcapacity situation in each link.Different from the overcapacity in the downstream, the midstream of new energy vehicles is mainly characterized by the structural overcapacity of “insufficient high-end production capacity and excess low-end production capacity”;while the overcapacity of upstream enterprises is also accompanied by a relatively serious characteristic of “overcapacity”.(3)The government prefers to intervene in strategic emerging industries, and different policy support means have different influences on the upstream,mid-stream and downstream links of new energy vehicles.Midstream enterprises are greatly affected by direct government subsidies, while indirect government subsidies mainly affect the capacity utilization rate of upstream enterprises. In addition, the capacity utilization rate of upstream and downstream enterprises is highly sensitive to the level of financial support. |
