Research On The Impact Of Intellectual Capital On The Performance Of Construction Enterprises

China’s construction industry has a huge scale.In 2021,the construction industry accounted for 25.6% of GDP.Its development significantly drives upstream and downstream industries such as steel,building materials and energy,and plays an important role in supporting and regulating the whole national economy.However,with the rapid development of the construction industry,it also faces many serious problems.The overall input-output efficiency of the industry is low,high energy consumption and high pollution.A large number of existing research and industrial practice show that the overall digitization degree of the industry is low.Although the overall level is slightly higher than that of agriculture,the digitization level is still in the primary stage compared with other industries.It can be seen that the development of China’s construction industry urgently needs digital transformation,and the key to the realization of digital transformation of the construction industry lies in innovation,that is,the use of digital technology to cause substantial changes to market products,business processes or model creation.As the most important digital tool for the development of the construction industry,BIM Technology has become an important indicator to measure the innovation of construction enterprises.Since entering the 21st century,people believe that the value of intangible assets such as knowledge goes beyond tangible assets and has become the main source of organizational value creation.It is also the source of enterprise competitive advantage,and it is also an important transformation channel of enterprise profit and performance.Creative and experienced employees are more inclined to integrate internal and external knowledge by using efficient processes,databases,systems and relationship network resources inside and outside the organization,so as to promote the emergence of dual innovation and finally transform it into enterprise performance.It can be seen that the digital innovative application of construction enterprises with BIM Technology as the core is a core value of intellectual capital.This study takes the groups familiar with BIM Technology in the construction industry as the survey object,collects 273 effective questionnaires online by using the number seeing platform,analyzes the reliability and validity of the scale by using SPSS26.0,and empirically tests the hypotheses and related paths proposed by the structural equation model by using smartpls 3.0.The results show that:(1)there is a high degree of correlation within the intellectual capital of construction enterprises.Human capital positively promotes organizational capital,social capital and relational capital,while organizational capital positively promotes social capital and relational capital.That is,organizational capital plays an intermediary effect in human capital and relationship capital,and it also plays an intermediary effect in human capital and social capital.(2)There are differences in the impact of intellectual capital,the dimensions of intellectual capital and the interaction of intellectual capital on enterprise performance.From the perspective of each subdivision dimension,human capital is not directly related to enterprise performance,while organizational capital,social capital and relational capital all play a direct role in promoting enterprise performance.From the impact of the internal relationship of intellectual capital on enterprise performance,although human capital does not directly affect enterprise performance,it can indirectly affect enterprise performance through two chain paths: organizational capital to social capital or organizational capital to relational capital.(3)The impact of dual innovation on the relationship between intellectual capital and enterprise performance is completely different.Exploratory innovation has no intermediary effect between each subdivision dimension of intellectual capital and enterprise performance.On the contrary,developmental innovation does play an intermediary role in the relationship between each subdivision dimension of intellectual capital(except social capital)and enterprise performance.Considering the internal role of capital,human capital is positively promoting enterprise performance through the chain intermediary path of organizational capital,relational capital and developmental innovation.The research conclusion of this thesis not only enriches the relevant theoretical system of enterprise dual innovation,but also reveals the reasons behind the puzzling phenomenon in the current construction market,so as to provide development suggestions for all sectors of society.
