| The 5th generation mobile communication technology(5G)new radio(NR)brings users an experience of ultra-high speed and ultra-low latency, but also brings greater challenges to the power consumption of 5G terminals. The use time of the terminal directly affects the user’s experience, and users have higher and higher requirements for the battery life of the terminal. Therefore, how to effectively reduce the power consumption of terminals is a hot issue to be solved urgently in academia and industry. In this paper, the research on the above problem is mainly done in the following three aspects:(1)Aiming at the high power consumption problem that terminals frequently perform radio link monitoring/beam failure detection in low mobility scenarios, the terminal power consumption analysis of radio link monitoring/beam failure detection relaxation measurement is carried out.It is found that when the relaxation measurement period is large, the terminal no measurement is performed for a long time.If the quality of the radio link between the terminal and the base station deteriorates for a period of time, the terminal is likely to lose network scheduling and data transmission, resulting in additional power consumption and delay;when the period is very small, the terminal power saving effect is not obvious.Based on this,a terminal power saving scheme based on radio link monitoring/beam failure detection is proposed. The scheme reduces the power consumption of the terminal by dynamically adjusting the period of the terminal’s radio link monitoring/beam failure detection relaxation measurement. The simulation results show that the power saving gain of the proposed scheme is about 7%compared with the existing power saving scheme, which proves that the proposed power saving scheme can further reduce the power consumption of the terminal.(2)Aiming at the problem that the reduced capacity NR terminal equipment needs power saving enhancement, based on most of its use cases are fixed or low mobility, and most of the time in the radio resource control(RRC)idle state or inactive state, expanded the radio resource management(RRM)measurement analysis of the terminal, two power saving schemes for reduced capability NR terminal equipment are proposed.According to the 5G NR calculation method of cell quality in the 3 GPP standard,a power saving scheme is proposed to reduce the number of synchronization signal blocks measured by the terminal;according to the reference signal receiving power(RSRP)measurement result of the terminal, the terminal is grouped, and the power saving scheme of the RRM relaxation measurement by the terminal group is proposed. The simulation results show that the proposed the terminal power saving scheme can effectively save the power consumption of the terminal compared with the traditional scheme.(3)Aiming at the power consumption problem caused by frequent cell handover of the terminal in 5G non-terrestrial network scenario, based on the characteristics of 5G non-terrestrial network and 3GPP related standards, expanded the analysis of the process of the terminal performing cell handover, and two power saving schemes of the terminal based on nonterrestrial network are proposed. The first scheme saves power by reducing unnecessary cell handover of the terminal, and the second scheme saves power by reducing the measurement report of the terminal and the number of neighboring cells measured by the terminal. The simulation results show that the proposed power saving scheme can effectively save the power consumption of the terminal compared with the traditional scheme. |
