In recent years,China has accelerated the transformation and upgrading of the automotive industry,and the development of autonomous driving has gained momentum,but its promotion and use must first address the problem of trust deficit.According to the theory of trust in automation,optimising the design of the human-machine interface can improve the driver’s understanding of the vehicle’s operating status and driving decisions,thereby increasing trust.Through literature research,experimental analysis and design practice,this dissertation provides a theoretical basis and methodological support for the design and development of human-machine interfaces for conditional autonomous driving,which will have a positive impact on the acceptance and use of autonomous driving technology.Firstly,through literature research,three design elements of the human-machine interface for autonomous driving that influence trust are proposed,namely human-machine interface anthropomorphism,providing appropriate transparency,adaptive and personalisation.Secondly,based on the subjective evaluation of the driving process by humans,a simulation experiment was conducted for level 3 conditional autopilot conditional autonomous driving to investigate the two elements of anthropomorphism and transparency.The experiments are oriented towards building human-vehicle trust,and the final results identify the roles,perceptual qualities and design expressions of the anthropomorphic design of the autonomous driving system,and also rank the importance of four types of informationnavigation,expected trajectory,critical vehicle,and side distance-to provide a theoretical basis for establishing appropriate interface transparency.Finally,the findings and methods of adaptive and personalised design are used to integrate the experimental results of Interface transparency into a human-machine interface design strategy.From the conditional autopilot mode usage scenario,a functional analysis of the three links of start,run and end was carried out,a page flow and page layout was developed,and an interface design solution for the dashboard and centre control screen was produced.
