Most of the gymnasium buildings in China adopt the reticulated shell structure system, which is often safe and has a beautiful and versatile shape,so this kind of building often becomes a landmark of the city. With the continuous and steady development of China’s economy, gymnasium buildings in China’s urban public buildings are also increasing, the number of gymnasium with more than 10,000 seats is close to 400,both the difficulty of construction and the scale of construction in the world is second to none.At the same time,China is an earthquake-prone country, with a wide distribution of earthquakes and a high degree of damage.Once a destructive earthquake occurs, the gymnasium building may be damaged to different degrees, resulting in interruption of the building use function, and such buildings are often used as when the post-earthquake shelter and rescue command center, coupled with the difficulty of reconstruction of such buildings, long recovery time and high recovery costs, which requires an accurate assessment of the resilience of such buildings under the action of the earthquake. Therefore,to ensure the safety of people inside the building, maintain the building function and achieve rapid recovery of building function after the earthquake has become the focus of seismic research on this type of buildings. In recent years,a large number of countries around the world have conducted research on the seismic resilience of various buildings and put forward different evaluation criteria for seismic resilience.China has also released Standard for seismic resilience assessment of buildings, which uses three indicators to evaluate the resilience of buildings in terms of post-earthquake repair time, restoration cost and casualties. However, the standard is still mainly applicable to frame and multi-story buildings. The structural force transfer system of gymnasium buildings, quantification of different degrees of building damage, damage characteristics of structural and non-structural components, personnel damage and repair are significantly different from those of traditional multi-story buildings, and require corresponding research. The main research work and conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)Firstly,the current status of research on seismic performance of reticulated shell structure is summarized, and the seismic resilience assessment standards and methods frequently used at home and abroad are systematically described, and the assessment process of the Standard for seismic resilience assessment of buildings is elaborated in detail. The proposed values of the relevant parameters are mainly based on the characteristics of the gymnasium building, and the applicable seismic resilience assessment method is formed. For the single-layer reticulated shell gymnasium building with the lower reinforced concrete frame support,a quantitative evaluation of its seismic resilience level is proposed by using the way of separate evaluation of the upper building and the lower building.(2)Secondly,the finite element analysis model of the single-layer spherical shell gymnasium structure is established, and the ground motion is input for elastic-plastic time history analysis. The elastic-plastic time history analysis extracts the engineering demand parameters, determines the damage state of structural components and non-structural components, calculates the restoration cost, repair time and casualties of the structure, and finally evaluates the seismic resilience assessment level of the single-layer reticulated shell gymnasium building.(3)Finally,the structural span, roof quality, vector span ratio and ground motion peak acceleration are analyzed, the finite element model is established, the ground motion is input for structural response analysis, and the same engineering demand parameters as the single-layer reticulated shell gymnasium are used to study the resilience of these parameters on the structure. The influence of these parameters on the engineering demand parameters of single-layer reticulated shell gymnasium buildings is studied, and the related research results can provide reference for such buildings.
