With the rapid development of economy and society,people have higher requirements for the quality of life.Architecture is closely correlated to people’s life,and the quality of indoor environment directly affects human comfort.Therefore,creating a comfortable and healthy indoor environment has been a significant issue in the green development of current buildings.As an important carrier of national basic education,rural middle schools are of great importance of creating a good indoor environment for students to thrive healthily.Chongqing is a region where it’s hot and sultry in summer and cold and humid in winter.However,some rural middle schools are equipped with no heating and cooling facilities,which leads to poor indoor environment,and affects students’ physical and mental health and studying efficiency.this problem deserves attention.At present,there is no systematic research on indoor thermal environment of rural middle schools in hot summer and cold winter areas,and there are few studies on indoor environment transformation and optimization of rural middle schools.Based on the climate conditions in Western Chongqing,this project will take one rural middle school as a representative case to investigate into the current situation of the indoor surroundings of village middle schools in this area,and further discuss the technical measures to improve the suitability of the indoor environment.To collect data and provide theoretical support,this paper sorts out the research results of relevant literatures at home and abroad,and the current standards and norms,analyzes the climate characteristics of Chongqing,and investigates and summarizes the attributes and deficiencies of rural schools in Chongqing.Taking Mafang Middle School in Bishan District of Chongqing as the research object,the field survey was carried out to clarify the basic situation of the school architecture.Through questionnaire taken by teachers and students,their subjective evaluation of the indoor environment and the existing problems of the indoor environment are summarized.To further study the indoor surroundings,the indoor air temperature,humidity and indoor CO2concentration were selected as the main factors of the study,and the classroom,dormitory and teacher’s office were tested both in winter and summer,and the indoor thermal environment and air quality were also analyzed and discussed.The investigation and measurement found that the temperature of Mafang Middle School is low in winter and high in summer,the humidity is a bit higher in summer,the relative humidity is high in both seasons,and the indoor concentration of CO2 exceeds the standard during winter time;the overall evaluations from teachers and students of the indoor environment is not good.Combined with the analysis of the field investigation results,it is concluded that the poor indoor environment of Mafang Middle School is mainly affected by the climate in hot summer and cold winter,insufficient indoor ventilation,poor thermal performance of the outer envelope and other factors in general.Based on the actual situation of Mafang Middle School in Bishan District,Chongqing,comprehensively considering the indoor environment and the energy consumption of the building,combined with field investigation and field research,from the introduction of fresh air and the improvement of outer envelope,those two aspects,this paper puts forward the improvement strategies dedicated for it’s indoor environment,and uses the energy consumption simulation software De ST,to look into the indoor environment to demonstrate the effectiveness of these improvement strategies.The indoor environment of architecture is influenced by the interaction of many factors.Starting from the building conditions and influencing factors,based on full investigation of the current situation of the indoor environment,this paper discusses the improvement strategy of the indoor environment of rural middle schools,which can not only effectively improve the indoor environment,but also consider the economic benefits and environmental benefits.Therefore,this topic summarizes the climate conditions of Chongqing and the development status of rural middle school buildings,and takes Chongqing Mafang Middle School as a representative case to discuss its indoor environment,analyze the problems and shortcomings of those school buildings,put forward improvement strategies according to local conditions,and demonstrate the effectiveness and suitability of improvement strategies through software simulation.It is expected to provide reference for future research on indoor environment of rural middle schools in hot summer and cold winter areas.It is of positive practical significance to create a comfortable indoor environment for rural middle school buildings,provide a relatively comfortable learning and living environment for students,and promote the development of "high quality and balanced" compulsory education.
