At present,child accidental injury has become one of the most important public health problems in the 21 st century.In China,accidental injuries have replaced diseases as the leading cause of death among children,so it is urgent to carry out the prevention and control of children’s injuries.Community public space,as one of the main places for children’s outdoor activities,provides a series of space services for children.Among them,safety warning signs,as a service system for warning danger information in the community space,transmit space danger status and space safety information to the community,and remind people to prevent dangers in the space.However,due to abstract graphics,single form and too high size,the existing warning labels fail to achieve effective safe transmission of children.In order to better protect children’s safety,avoid accidental injuries,and make safety warning signs in community public space better accepted and recognized by children,this topic starts from children’s cognitive psychology,explores the design of children’s safety warning signs through the cognitive development theory of Piaget and the concept of multi-sensory experience cognition,and finally verifies the design theory through design practice.The research methods are mainly theoretical analysis and field investigation.First of all,it defines the object of this study,analyzes and summarizes the current situation of children’s safety and safety warning signs,and expounds the reasons for children’s safety and the existing problems of safety warning signs in the current space.At the same time,according to the characteristics of space environment and warning signs,the design elements of children’s safety warning signs are sorted out.According to relevant literature research and analysis,summed up the design principles of children’s safety warning signs.Secondly,based on the cognitive theory of children and the concept of multi-sensory experience,the design method of children’s safety warning signs conforming to children’s cognitive psychology under different sensory channels is proposed.On this basis,themed and interactive design thinking is constructed to guide the formulation of specific design strategies and design methods.Finally,on the basis of theoretical guidance and strategy output,the design practice verification is carried out.The pilot of children’s safety warning signs is carried out in the public space of Jincheng community in Chengdu.The way of offline release is adopted to provide positive safety guidance for children,and guide children to understand the potential dangers in the space and form effective memory thinking.To provide a new attempt for the design of children’s safety warning signs.In short,community public space as an important environment for children to explore society is the key point to promote the healthy growth and comprehensive development of children in our country.Therefore,it is particularly important to create a set of safety warning signs in line with children’s cognitive development for the community,which is exactly the safety essence of this research on children’s safety warning signs.
